Hello Forever

October 9th, 2012 by sixpegs

It was Lianie’s birthday on 2nd October and we all headed out to have dinner together at Casa Verde at Botanic Gardens!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIANIE DEAR!
May you always be so gorgeous and fucking fabulous! We love you! <3

The food there was really good and I like how it is not crazy crowded even at dinner time.
I’ve been there for lunch once and it was packed to the brim! (Or maybe we were just luckier that night)

Glorious food! I love the pizza!!

IMG_3411

IMG_3412

I wore my new parka from Runway Bandits and new awesome kicks from Soeurs!
If you haven’t heard of Soeurs, it’s time to visit them at Cineleisure Level 2.
It’s opened by the awesome Jayne Tham and her sister Jasmine!
And even if you don’t want to check out these lovely sisters, do it for the gorgeous shoes they have in store!
I love this pair so much that I got it in both blue and pink! Totally dig the metal tips.

The next day, I set out early and headed out to Clarke Quay for my Botox appointment with Neuglow!
Am loving the new denim shirtdress from Runway Bandits and digging the new look.
I thought I can hardly pull off such a look but it’s really growing on me.
You will be seeing me in this getup more often! Heh.
Shoes from Soeurs.

I’ve heard so much about Neuglow from Jayne and am totally thrilled when it’s finally my turn to visit them.
As some of you might have already known, I have bruxism problem and
it has given me over-developed chewing muscles over the years of teeth grinding.

So after some thoughts, I’ve decided to go get my square jaws taken care of!
I tried Botox couple of years back but the thought of getting needles in my face still creeps me out.
But the girls at Neuglow were really nice and stayed with me throughout the entire session.
“Thank you girls so much!”
It was also very reassuring to know that my doctor is one of the senior doctors in Neuglow, Dr Joseph Soh.

P1017107

P1017104

“These horrible muscles will shrink!!!” he said. :D

The session started with the nurse helping me numb the area with ice packs and a numbing cream.
So by the time the needles came, I almost couldn’t feel anything at all.
I took about 2 shots on each side of my jaw.

P1017118

P1017120

SATISFIED and feeling brave! :p

P1017146

Neuglow offers a huge array of services, from non-invasive procedures like Botox and fillers
to plastic surgery to dental services.
You can check out their website for more information!
I’ve already made an appointment for my next review with them in November and I can’t wait to see the results!
Thank you Dr Soh and the oh-so-friendly girls at Neuglow!

It was also A’s brother Donn’s big day last week!
Donn and Meihua makes a really cute couple and it was such a heartwarming affair at the wedding banquet! <3

It was also the first time I saw A wear a pretty little dress too! Ahem.
She looks very hot lor! Hahaha.

Before I show you more pictures, here are pictures of A and I getting my hair “UP”!
Special thanks to my lovely hair sponsor, Shunji Matsuo and Caely who gave me such a bombastic hairstyle!
I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
And I’m digging the fact that it makes me red hair looks even cooler. Heh. :p

IMG_3419

IMG_3420

IMG_3421

Yellow chiffon top from Runway Bandits. :)
By the way, don’t you think Caely really looks like Taiwanese celebrity Da S!!
I made a really last minute appointment with them and I really appreciate it when
they took the time to do my hair at such late notice.
Caely is usually super busy (because everyone wants their hair done by her), so BIG BIG THANKS! <3

I’m loving the hairdo!

IMG_3422

IMG_3423

Runway Bandits has generously sponsored A and my outfits for the dinner too!
It was love at first sight for me – the green lace top was such a gem and it made me look dressed up instantly.
I forgot to bring my accessories for the night but with a top like this, I guess I don’t need any other accessories.
This is the first time I see A in a little black dress too!
*wolf whistles* :p

IMG_3424

And more pictures taken on my phone.

IMG_3426

IMG_3428

IMG_3427

A also wore these super killer booties we got from Barcelona.
REALLY REALLY TALL HEELS! I think they must be at least 5″ tall!
We camwhored after the dinner so please pardon my collapsed hair after I took out all the pins. Heh!

IMG_3430

IMG_3429

IMG_3431

IMG_3432

She says she is my (non-existent) Fan Club President. So this is the Fan Club President look. Hahaha!

IMG_3433

Bribing the Fan Club President.

IMG_3435

By the way, I once received a comment from a couple of readers who asked me
not to put up such pictures because it makes them feel uncomfortable.
Hmm. Ok go wash your eyes.

IMG_3436

IMG_3437

IMG_3438

IMG_3439

I know it’s a little tak-glam to take pictures in the toilet.
But the hair do until so nice, it’s only right that I take the opportunity to take more pictures. Heh!

This entire week has been a very joyous one because we were all busy with A’s brother’s wedding!
We prepared our new The Tiramisu Hero product, TuttiHero for his reception at home too!
Will be launching this product soon on our website and A and I were both very excited about it!

I also got my fresh manicure and pedicure at Juup Nails!
I am loving the designs so much – fresh manicures always make my day.
I’m shallow like that sometimes. Heh!

The solemnization was done at Vineyard at Hort Park and it was just so beautiful!
So much effort was put into the every little details and the atmosphere was great!

IMG_3007

Love my red hair, courtesy of Shunji Matsuo too!
At first, I was worried that it might be too red but it came out just right. Super happy!

A and I also took time off to visit Mommy Rossie and Baby Rykiel! <3
It was also Aiyolove’s birthday so we had a mini celebration with her.

IMG_3121

IMG_3117

I’m wearing my new top from Cadith! It’s super comfortable especially for a laidback Saturday.
There are so many very pretty dresses on the website, wish I could bring them all home. :(
Check out their Facebook Page to see their stuff even before the launches!
They just launched a new collection with many blazers, printed dresses and more. Just so you know. Heh!

Say HELLO to the adorable baby Rykiel! She’s so cute!

We walked away with 3 pairs of new kicks! Very love!!
We also brought some TuttiHero for her and Sir Antonio made a guest appearance too.
Hahaha!

IMG_3220

IMG_3221

HAHAHA so cute!

IMG_3222

And I have to say it’s very depressing to take pictures with Jayne because her face is so small. (T_T)
I think I am officially addicted to chiffon shirts too.
My current favourite is this one I whisked away from Runway Bandits!!

Kombi Rocks

May 25th, 2012 by sixpegs

Screen shot 2012-05-25 at AM 12.27.00

I am thrilled about this place the moment I heard about it.
And I have to thank Cheryl for such a great recommendation!
For those of you who doesn’t know yet, Kombi is actually the name of this type of vehicle shown in the banner above.
One of the prettiest designs from Volkswagen, if you ask me!

Kombi Rocks is not just any other cute cafe!
Other than the “Diner” branch, they also have the “Rides” branch where they have cute vintage vehicles for hire.
Whether you’re planning for a photoshoot, wedding or just for a joyride, you can get them!
Imagine a wedding with such a cute ride, too cute.

Screen shot 2012-05-25 at AM 12.28.09

That’s us on our way to Kombi Rocks!
It’s situated on Yio Chu Kang Road, nearer to the Serangoon side.
That’s really close to A’s place and we are thrilled to have discovered another cute cafe to hang out at near home. :)

[Yes we bought those old school snacks to eat. WE LOVE!]

IMG_3727

It is hard to miss this place.
There would always be a couple eye-catching classic vintage rides parked at its doorstep.
We were here for a late lunch so we were the only table there.

IMG_3728

IMG_3729

Look at that cute light pink Kombi parked just outside the cafe! Cute right!
We also saw this absolutely gorgeous Porsche (we found out that its the owner’s ride after chatting with the boss).

IMG_3751

IMG_3761

The menu looks pretty old school too.

IMG_3730

IMG_3732

And A is looking funky here. Hahaha!

IMG_3731

After reading up more about the background of Kombi Rocks (the history of the place is included at the back of the menu),
we found out that it started out as Koon Kee Restaurant which was started in 1971.
I looked around at the interiors of the diner and YES, it does look like an old school kopitiam-style
restaurant if you minus all the posters, funky decors and vintage vehicles littered all around the place.
The retro coffee tables, tiles, barber chairs, old clocks and floor designs, reminds me of the old Singapore in the 70s/80s.

The owners of the diner must be huge fan of music and automobiles.
See the next few pictures and you will know why I said that!

IMG_3753

IMG_3733

IMG_3735

IMG_3736

I like this blind spot mirror shot. You can pretty much see the entire shop from here!

IMG_3734

Look at the kopitiam style coffee table and chairs and old school floor tiles!

IMG_3737

Owners are probably huge Beatles fans too! :D

IMG_3742

IMG_3737

IMG_3744

IMG_3739

I also spotted a SUPER cute pay phone tucked in a corner of the diner.
Why are pay phones now not as cute anymore?

IMG_3738

I think the main customers for the hire of rides came from weddings.
There are a lot of wedding-related stuff in the diner.
Look at this!
Isn’t that what people used to do when they get married?
Drive away from the church in a cute Volkswagen Beetle with cans dragging behind the car saying “JUST MARRIED”?
Anyways, is it even legal to drag cans on the roads in Singapore? Heh.

IMG_3740

IMG_3741

IMG_3743

IMG_3746

There is also a little “Retail Section” at the back of the diner where you can pick up old memorabilia.

IMG_3745

The “well not everything” looks like it’s added in later. Hahaha!
Someone must have attempted to buy something weird from the shop. :p

IMG_3747

IMG_3748

A and I picked a seat outdoors near the entrance of the diner.
I love the barber chairs they have in the diner!
We are sitting next to two barber chairs and the table is made from an old sewing machine.
Very creative!

IMG_3749

IMG_3750

The view from my seat.

IMG_3754

IMG_3760

The very pretty tiles on the table.

IMG_3756

Even the owners’ name cards are super cute!

IMG_3752

Anyways, we spoke to Ah Hai and he was super nice.
Oh! Before I forget, he told me that there would be a car boot flea market going on at Orchard Central this weekend!
A lot of their vehicles will be featured I think. Do head down if you’re keen.
I think I saw the TVC too, got celebrities heading there too. :)

NOW FOR THE FOOD!
Kombi Rocks serves Thai fusion and they sure did their food very well!

Fish Maw Soup for $13. Aroi Mak Mak!

IMG_3757

I also ordered Tom Yum Vermicelli Soup.
I CANNOT RESIST TOM YUM.
It’s really good! Wish it was a bit spicier though! Heh.

IMG_3758

A got her favourite Thai dish too.
She has been eating this everytime she has the chance to when we were in Bangkok two weeks ago.
Tsk!

IMG_3759

Food was pretty good and reasonably priced!
I recommend this place to anyone who likes old school looking place,
and if you also have a penchant for vintage classic automobiles, you MUST NOT miss this place.
There are more vehicles parked at the back of the diner too (which I didn’t explore),
so do check them out if you’re there in future too! :)

Here is their address.

Kombi Rocks Diner
66 Yio Chu Kang Road,
Serangoon, Singapore 545568
Tel: 62881206

Before we head off, I went to check out the interiors of the Kombi.
It’s really super cute lor. I like. :(

IMG_3762

OK lah, and one last picture, help them do free ad.
Hahahaha!

IMG_3763

Hope you like this recommendation because I totally dig it!
I am having so much fun exploring new places and pigging out.
LIKE this post if you want more cafes!
And please do give me a slight nudge and let me know if I am going overboard with the visiting of cafes.
If not, please shoot & leave a comment to let me know where to go next!!!
Hehe.

LOVE!
Peace xx
