Looks like getting a new camera IS a right choice.
I’ve been transformed into a brand new camwhore who would whip out my camera almost every hour.
Hahahaha!
I bought the Samsung MV9000 from Gmarket and it’s only at $320!
(The price I got from Sim Lim Square was $417, so that’s really quite a steal!)
It comes with a flip up screen and has inbuilt wifi so I can transfer pictures from the camera to my phone ANYWHERE,
even when I’m at a place with no wifi connection!
OK, enough of my boring gadget talk.
PEEKTURES!

I’m also loving my new gelish manicure from Juup!
It has got to be my favourite nail salon of all times.
Apart from the hot tea and cookies and chocolates they give me once I settled down,
I get to watch movies as I’m getting my nails done!
How awesome is that!
I did the gelish in a glittery dark grey this time round because my previous colour done by the was of a lighter shade.
Time for a change! :D

Lunch was at FIKA located at the junction of Arab Street and Beach Road!
I have been to this Swedish cafe once but I didn’t get to try the mains the last time I was there.
So A and I took the chance to try out some of their food this time round!

The cafe was pretty spacious, clean and white!
It is a halal cafe owned and operated by muslims (that’s what they said on their website).
So muslim friends, another place to go to if you’re at Haji Lane area!
When I think of Swedish food, the first place that comes to mind is IKEA.
So naturally, we compared the meatballs A ordered with the ones served at IKEA.
A commented that the meatballs at Fika tasted very “meaty”, so if you’re a hardcore carnivore, it might suit you!
The service at Fika was a little disappointing though. Hmm.

The Aglio Olio I had was not bad though, but I think it can be a little spicier.
But they give you the opportunity to pick what you want in the pasta, so I picked shrimps for mine!
I LOVE the cold fresh milk with cinnamon though. SO GOOD! Yums.

This was the best A could do when I asked her to look at me lovingly.
WAHAHAHA!

Food all cleaned up!

If you’re interested to check out Fika at your next cafe hopping trip, here are some information you might need!

We toured around the area after getting some stocks and we found this really cute vintage store tucked in a corner!
This store has a really cute name called Roccoco Kent and
the owner of the store is really friendly too.
Here are some pictures to give you a little virtual tour around the shop!

Here we go!

There is a little outdoor area with all the cutest things you can possibly think of!

If you would also like to pay Roccoco Kent a visit the next time you around the area, here’s their address.

The main entrance to the shop is a little inconspicuous though, so do look out for this sign when you’re in the area!

And just something random we saw on our way home.
The Prata People On the Way To A Prata Party.
HAHAHAHAHA!

Till next time, time for a prata party! <3
Hahaha!

2013 started with a kickass lobster from Four Seasons Hotel.
It’s brunch with the girlies at Four Seasons Hotel! <3

Food glorious food! Yums yums for my tums tums!

Look at my main!
This freaking lobster is bigger than my forearm! *gasps*

And my favourite friends in the world!

Including the latest member of our sisterhood, no I mean.. auntiehood. Heh!
We love Baby Rykiel!

More photos with the girls!
Rossie looks so pretty here!!!
Most chio Mommy of the year award. Hehehe!

Baby looks so funny here. Heh!

I love my girlfriends! Another awesome year ahead!
And dear A, thank you for the love for the ENTIRE 2012!
I want many many more awesome years with you!

xxx
I also coloured my hair again at Shunji Matsuo 313.
Decided to going back to having a more normal colour and look less K-Pop. Hahaha!
The fringe is getting really long and unruly but I’m torn between getting them trimmed and keeping them long.
Gaaahhh!

I also took my unruly black hair to this really cute cafe called The Lawn!
I’m wearing my lovely bright yellow blazer from Runway Bandits!
So so in love with their clothes, almost everything is up my alley and it’s hard to shop within a budget at Runway Bandits.
Hahaha.

moustache watch ● www.didd.co

Love the simple and cute moustache watch from DamselindisDress!
A and I both have one each! Wee!

The Lawn is a like a breath of fresh air tucked away in a small corner at Biopolis.
I used to work around Science Park Drive area and if I had known there are such cute cafes around in Biopolis,
I would fly there for lunches! :o
It is a a grill and salad bar that sells some really awesome and VALUE-FOR-MONEY food!
A gourmet coffee that is typically $5-$6 in regular cafe is only going at $3ish here.
They serve some imported beers too – up my alley. Hahaha!

For carnivores and people-who-live-to-eat-carbs (like yours truly),
you can also pick the healthy olive rice instead of greens for your main.
You may choose toppings to go with your rice or greens!

Free stickers too! Is love. Haha!

If you are thinking salad is boring and unappetizing, check this out man!
Just take a look at the generous serving of grilled prawns!

I picked rice because I cannot live with proper carbs in my meal, but it still came with a healthy salad.
I chose the citrus topping for my salad which turned out to be really good.
The grilled dory was divine too!

If I am already making you swallow your saliva vigorously as you read my entry,
then don’t forget to check out The Lawn at Biopolis.
And if you work in the vicinity of Biopolis, there is no reason why you shouldn’t try this adorable cafe out!

And before I go, I shall end this post with pictures of our supermodel puss. Heh!
Have a great week ahead!

October 27th, 2012 by sixpegs

It has been an overwhelming week for me, busy as a bee.
I tell myself everyday that this will all be worth it and one day, I will be able to see the returns.
The Tiramisu Hero is almost 3 months old now.
Despite being propelled straight into “auntie-hood” – stuck in the kitchen all day and only shopping in baking supplies stores,
it gives me a great sense of achievement watching the business grow bit by bit everyday.
We’ve been having return customers and good feedback too! They always make our day.
If you are one of those people who has supported The Tiramisu Hero in one way or another,
I want to say a big THANK YOU to you from the bottom of my heart. :)
I used to be a worry wart who would only think about the bad side of everything.
“What if it fails?”
“What if we keep losing money? How long should we hold on for?”
“Where will it takes us?”
“Will we be able to earn enough to move on to the next step?”
I kept thinking to myself that if this were to fail, I’ll just have to go back to a 9-to-5 job
and go head-to-head with the fresh grads again since I only have one year of working experience.
To be honest, it still worries me now everytime I have such thoughts.
A has been the rock in my life.
We set up a little office area in her bedroom and the two of us are just pretty much stuck here on a daily basis
when we are not at the kitchen – trying to take care of other stuff like inventory, accounts, logistics & other small stuff.
The frequent late nights sometimes drive us a little cranky and more irritable.
We bicker a lot more often than before, but I appreciate the support and love she gives me.
We live and breathe tiramisu now and I hope tiramisu will also be the one that will see us through and bring us closer
to our dream of having our own little shop and eventually being able to afford a home together.
This last one month has been really exciting for A and me!
Thinking back, it was really crazy of us to come up with the idea of starting a business within one night!
From registering of the website, to sourcing for suppliers to starting our business officially, it took us barely two (sleepless) weeks.
We are still a really teeny weeny company but at least we are now registered and
have our own little legal central kitchen.
We dream all day about having our own store and hopefully we’ll be able to carry more than just tiramisu too! :)
We were really lucky so far.
We were invited by a popular local magazine to be featured in one of their delivery food spread feature!
A and I couldn’t stop smiling to ourselves when we read that particular email together.
(still smiling when I think of it now)
Hope everything will go smoothly, and I can’t wait to have our first The Tiramisu Hero magazine feature!! * big grin*
We have also been working closely with this fashion/homewares boutique at Haji Lane too.
Apart from ordering online and doing self collection for our tiramisu,
our customers will soon be able to shop for some of the more popular tiramisu products from Haji Lane!
It is not our own store but we will be having a small little corner in the shop!
The official opening will be on 3rd November so A and I are like mad busy now!
Will definitely keep you guys updated. :)

Apart from that, our cupcakes (and myself) were also featured in an upcoming PUMA shoot
in conjunction with their Puma Social Campaign.
Here are some pictures!

I also had the chance to meet Dawn Yeoh.

And Romeo Tan.

I gave some MommaHero to Dawn, Romeo and some friends from PUMA too.
Totally feel like a proud Mother when they said the packaging was cute. Hahaha!

Big thank you to Deanna and the rest of the team for the fun-filled shoot!

*ding* Proud Mother smile!

GO SIR ANTONIO!! Aza aza fighting! ♥
xxx
Took my family and A to the Singapore Flyer and checked out this 6D show they have.
The kids had a lot of fun!
It was pretty awesome and I also brought my new parka/blazer from Runway Bandits out to meet the sun.

Totally dig the shoes from Soeurs too! I’ve been wearing them almost everyday. Heh!
You can find Soeurs at Level 2 in Cineleisure.

It was Donn’s birthday too.
A’s Dad was not in town so they took a family photo with his Dad on Skype. So cute right?
Makes me miss my parents. :’(

I also met up with Wei Yen and got my goodies from her store, The Pony Party!
She’s a really nice girl and all the stuff she passed me are so adorable!!

Bought new shades too! Hehe.
Since I’m so busy stuck at work all the time. Online shopping is really the only way out to do my retail therapy.
Got these from Smart Buy Glass! :D
Got a hard time picking out a suitable pair because they have SO MUCH!
Nice nice?

Thank God for online shopping to keep me sane. Haha!
xxx
A and I also checked out a new cafe at McCallum Street.
We spoke to the owner of the cafe and realized that the cafe is only 6 months old!
SPRMRKT is a really unique place that puts food, retail and art into one space.
The decor is simple but comfortable aesthetically.
They have a corner that houses all the kitchen wares for sale too! Very interesting.

The people there were REALLY friendly. Like superbly friendly and helpful.
Two thumbs up for them.
And what’s even better is that the food is really really good!
I had an oxtail penne and A picked their pork ribs.
The price range is about slightly under $20 for a main, but it’s really well worth it.

My auntie pursed smile. Haha!

Here is their address and some other information you may need if you want to check them out too :)

It is now 4.33am and I am feeling guilty about not blogging for such a long time.
This is pretty much the only time I can sit down and “talk to myself” and reflect on how everything is so far.
Hope I didn’t bore you. :)
And I shall shamelessly end the post with my camwhore photo! Haha.
Enjoy the weekend, people! ♥

August 1st, 2012 by sixpegs
Sunday’s dinner was at the cute little Le’toile Cafe at Owen Road!
A and I had been hungry the whole day because we were busy doing our work and missed all our meals,
and we were really looking forward to check out this cafe we heard about.
It was really nice to know that the cafe opens until as late as 10pm too.
Here are some pictures of the cafe. I love the building the cafe is located in!
So cute!
It is a really quiet area so this would be a great place for people who want to get away from the bustling town area.

The Japanese/French style cafe looks really welcoming with a small area near the main entrance
that carries cute accessories and other merchandise.
It is a 2 storey cafe and there are quite a lot of tables around.
I like how almost all the tables in this cafe are different!
Very cosy place, and there are a lot of books and magazines littered all around for patrons too.

We picked a seat on level 2 and I love the decor on the 2nd storey!
I felt as if I just stepped into a friend’s home – old school coffee table with dragon carvings,
sewing machine tables, and dressing table as the server’s station.
Cute!

I like the old school sofa set!
My satchel looks good on the orange prints. Heh!

I used my charm bracelet as a bag charm too! <3

The menu is all handwritten!
I read in some forums that they used to only serve sandwiches,
but I think they just added in some new stuff into their menu!
Lots of pasta to choose from amongst others.

I had a Lemon Ginger Tea and A had an iced latte.
I enjoyed my pot of tea but A thought the coffee was just meh.
Here is what we ordered.
We expected the food to be better but it was just pretty average.

That said, I think this place is great for gathering with friends for tea and some quick bites!
The place was really conducive and cosy, service staff were friendly and attentive too.
Here are some details about Le’toile is you want to check them out too!

A and I are starting a new venture called The Tiramisu Hero together.
Some of you might already know that we are huge foodies and enjoy baking and cooking together.
We are very proud of our tiramisu recipe and have been getting good reviews from our family and friends,
so we thought we would make some tiramisu for other tiramisu-loving friends too!
It has been really fun making tiramisu, feeding our friends & drawing all the doodles on our website so far.
Here is a sneak peek of what’s in store!

The website would be officially launched on 6th August, Monday.
For now, you can check out The Tiramisu Hero Facebook Page for pictures.
It is our first time doing something together.
We hope to spread the love and let people who love tiramisu try out our recipe so please SUPPORT OK!
LIKE our Facebook Page and be our friends!
We will be posting more updates about the website soon.
PEACE xx

Thanks to reader Pearl, A and I had some really delicious Nutella Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream at Club Street Social!
We swung by Club Street Social after running some errands this afternoon
and here are some pictures of this New York style cafe!

I had a beer too! It is such a luxury to have an ice cold beer on a hot afternoon!
First time trying the Vedette, it’s good!
And there is something about the packaging that makes it very appealing to me.
AND the superbly delicious Nutella Bread Pudding with Ice cream!
I wish we had more tummy space because the description of the food on the menu sounds so good.
We have to get back to this place for more food in future.
According to reader Pearl, the breakfast served here are quite good!

I KNOW! The dessert looks damn good right! :D”

Here are some details of Club Street Social if you would like to try them out too.
Please go and try their breakfast and let me know if it’s good OK! :D

I wore my favourite pair of booties and new shift dress from Stephie’s Shop!
I love the colours of this dress and it’s so comfortable to be in. <3

xxx
We also went out around Haji Lane for some shopping two days ago,
and I wore my new pair of nude wedges from Sole Passion!
It’s super comfortable – I love wedges!

I have been bugging A to bring me for a swim because I bought this new iPhone case that is waterproof!
Here are some of the underwater shots we took while we took a dip!
LOVE LOVE!

Thank you for dropping by today and hope you like the new cafe!
PEACE xx
