Tattoos are addictive.

I’ve been wanting to get another tattoo for the longest time.
But I haven’t decided what I want yet.
There are many designs I’ve been looking at,
but I’m taking my own time because I know the answer will come to me at the right time.
It’s always like that.

Since I’m at the the topic of tattoos, I wanna share some of the gorgeous pictures I found.
I hope you like them too.

I really like moustaches, not like real ones but the Pringles one!

And I think I’ve listed it into one of my favourite designs.
I drew a little moustache on my finger and see what how much fun it can be!

Sinsin & Tingkang

January 3rd, 2012 by sixpegs

It was a fine morning and we set off to do a little pre-wedding (or some call it engagement) photoshoot for Sindy and Tingkang.
Wedding bells will be ringing in May this year!
A and I didn’t sleep for the entire night before the shoot (I was blogging and she is hooked on SIMS 3),
but I think we ran on some amazing adrenaline and reserve battery left in us to do the shoot.

It was really fun exploring new places and taking pictures for the lovely couple.
Tingkang also handmade the reflector we used for the shoot!
And Lianie the stylist came prepared with pretty dresses for the bride-to-be!

Here is a little present for my beautiful friend, Sinsin and Tingkang!

Screen shot 2012-01-03 at AM 12.32.18

The first location was near Dempsey area.
The sun and occasional clouds made it perfect for the shoot!
A and I lugged all the props and I’m glad they added more pretty colours to the shots! *beams*

They looked really cheery and happy in the pictures and I think all the mosquito bites didn’t bother us much anyway.
Sinsin then changed into a pretty red dress and Tingkang donned on a cute B&W shirt!
This was supposed to be a candid shot but I think they both looked really natural and happy!

All thanks to Melody who brought me there about a year ago!
I love all the shots taken here because they all look so happy and cheerful – very much like Sinsin and Tingkang in person.

Happy New Year lovelies!

January 2nd, 2012 by sixpegs

My New Year celebration was a blast with A, the girls and their partners!
Earlier in the evening on the 31st December, I also attended my friend Levi’s wedding at Conrad Hotel.
Wish him all the best and a blissful marriage! ♥

We left the banquet early so we won’t be caught in the NYE countdown crowd.
Sindy and Lianie were feeling very “Sex and The City” and Sinsin decided to do a video of us.
HAHAHAHAHA!
I don’t know how to walk so happily like them though.
You can view the clip here.

Our NYE celebration was a simple one at A’s place.
My darling A was so nice to let us create havoc at her place in her room. Heh!
I brought my ring light to her place and set up a little camwhore corner so that I could take pictures with my girlfriends,
RIGHT BEFORE Year 2011 ends!

Everyone was there except Aiyo because it was she and Weifu’s anniversary day!
Congratulations Aiyo and Weifu! ♥ Another wonderous year!
But even though she wasn’t there, we still made sure she is in the photo saying her favourite line “AIYO!”
Hahahaha.

Screen shot 2012-01-01 at PM 11.28.39

Introducing the usual suspects, Lianie, Sindy and Rossie!
The boys cannot really be bothered to take part in our silly photo taking session.
They all just sat around the room, watching TV, playing games or eating chips (or laugh at how we were so easily amused).

Screen shot 2012-01-01 at PM 11.47.41

I think my ring light has never been happier too!
The four of us took pictures almost non stop.
A was really patient to stand there and help snap our ridiculous poses too. HAHAHA!

We also made 春联 from toilet paper. HAHAHAHA!
This tradition started couple years back when we scribbled on some serviettes in some restaurant and took a lot of pictures.
I know it’s New Year and not the Lunar New Year yet, but we can’t wait!
[Sinsin is really looking one kind of crazy in the photo below]

When the clock struck midnight, we all kissed our partners Happy New Year and it really made me smile.
It’s such a blessing to have found these girls and A in my life and to have such great times together.
I’m really happy to see how everyone is so happy too! ♥

Then we dragged everyone to have couple photos taken!
May 2012 be another wonderful year for everyone.
Sinsin and Lianie will both be getting hitched in 2012! YAY!
Let 2012 be a great year for A and I too. :)

The girls also took some more normal photos and here are some of them!
I love these girls! :D

Let 2012 be another great year for our friendship!

On a sidenote, I’m really getting hooked to Instagram lately!
I started an account earlier in 2011 but I haven’t been using it much.
Never knew it could be this interactive and fun!
I had a lot of fun checking out other people’s great photos too.
Here are some of the snapshots I took these couple days.
If you’re on Instagram, find me at SIXPEGS ok! :D

I’ll be taking pre-wedding pictures for Sindy and Ting Kang tomorrow!
Lianie and A will also be there and I’m sure it’s going to be a great day.
Unfortunately, both A and I are down with flu and the usual sore throat now.
Boo. Hope we’ll get well soon!
I’ll be back with (hopefully) more gorgeous photos of Sinsin and everyone else!
As for now, hope everyone is having an enjoyable and great time as 2012 starts.

Before I begin, let me wish everyone not-very-on-time but definitely not late…

Screen shot 2011-12-29 at AM 01.23.30

I hope you guys all had a fantastic Christmas celebration over the weekend!
I had a lot of fun meeting up with my friends and A as well! :)

Auntie Connie dropped by Singapore from Taiwan for some personal matters and we managed to catch her over dinner at ION.
The traffic in town was totally crazy though!
I guess everyone was rushing to town to do last minute Christmas shopping when we were there,
and we were stuck in non-moving traffic in Orchard area for a good 20 to 30 minutes before we could get into the carpark!

This is what a frustrated driver looks like. Haha!

New blog entry

ION is one of my favourite place to be!
I used to refuse to visit ION when it first opened because everyone was raving about it.
And me being me, I like to deliberately go against everyone. Hahahaha!
But I think I go to ION more than any other places in town now.
A and I always take such stupid pictures at the escalators in ION. :p

New blog entry1

Auntie Connie was this super nice lady who brought A and I everywhere in Taipei the last time we were there.
She is still the same, super bubbly and energetic! Heh.
We had dinner at Taste Paradise at ION Level 4.
It was my first time there and I’m really blown away by how pretty the food is and how good they taste!
Chinese fine dining! (Basically, everything with a big plate and little bit of food is fine dining to me. Hahaha!)
Two thumbs up for their food! :D
Here is me with Auntie Connie and A’s family.

New blog entry2 New blog entry3 IMG_6025

I don’t know what you think but I think the four siblings don’t look like each other at all.
Maybe A looks a little like her elder brother (in white), that’s all. :p
If you wanna check out Taste Paradise, it’s at ION Level 4.
You can call them at 6509 9660 for reservations before you head there!

Speaking of A’s Mom, she also baked a super nice log cake for me this Christmas!
But because we don’t do any Christmas celebrations at home, I brought the cake to our gathering at Rossie’s place.
Look at the pretty cake Auntie Susan made for me! She told me the Santa Claus is holding a big bag of money for me.
HUAT AH! Hahahaha!

IMG_6090

A and I also made meatloaf for the doggies for Christmas!
I think it was a big success because even A wants to eat the meatloaf (and she stole quite a bit to eat).
It’s made from minced pork, celery, potatoes, carrot, oatmeal and lots of love!
This is the one I made for Maliboo. B for Boo! :D

IMG_6099
IMG_6115
IMG_6111

I had to REALLY HOLD HER DOWN and settle her before I could get a picture of her and the Christmas meatloaf we made.
Tried to make her look up but to no avail. Heh!
She REALLY loves the meatloaf and couldn’t stop munching away once I told her she could go for it!

IMG_6104

And… our new friend, Poppy!
Poppy is Rossie’s baby all the way from the States!
According to Rossie’s hubby, Roy, Poppy is an ABCD.
American Born Chinese Dog.
HAHAHAHAHA! Very creative indeed. :p

IMG_6102
IMG_6120

We made a “P” meatloaf for Poppy too and she absolutely loved it!
I think A and I can make it a sideline and make meatloaf for all the furballs in Singapore!
Our meatloaf rocks! :B

IMG_6129
IMG_6130

Sindy and Tingkang weren’t around for the gathering because they went on an escapade to KL for Christmas.

We also met up earlier for our midweek girlfriends loving session! ♥
This is the first time after Rossie got back then we managed to have a meetup where everyone was present!
SO MUCH LOVE! It was just like the old times, as if Rossie never left for 2 years at all.

A came along with me and we were bumming around before we met up with them at Bugis Junction.
She also accompanied me to get my new iPhone 4S!
I know it’s a little slow but I’m thrilled to finally have a new phone because my current iPhone 4 is totally screwing up!
The HOME button is cranky and the button on top needs a lot of strength to be pushed.
The iPhone only have 2 main buttons and both of the buttons on my phone is spoilt.
CAN YOU IMAGINE?!

Ok, enough whining.
(Back at home), me and my new iPhone 4S! ♥
Oh! I switched to Singtel too! Hee.

MUCH LOVE!!

28 Days Later.

December 26th, 2011 by sixpegs

28 days later, no zombies will be coming for you.
But Chinese New Year will be here! ♥
This year is a little special for me because it’s the first time I tried doing New Year goodies!
I know you’re probably still basking in the whole Christmas mood, but hey,
better start preparing for Chinese New Year because it’s just less than one month to go!

Here are some pictures I took when we did some of the cookies.
A’s Mommy is totally awesome when it comes to cooking and specially talented when it comes to baking!
Here is how the usual New Year Pineapple Rolls are made.

Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 02.52.26 Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 03.02.33 Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 03.24.23

We also prepared some Pineapple Tarts!
I didn’t know there is so much work put into these little tarts.
Normally I just pop them into my mouth one by one, but so much time is put into making every one of them!
According to A’s Mom, the pineapple filling is made from fresh pineapples and
they need to be cooked for a long time before it’s ready.

Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 03.37.26 Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 03.49.52 Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 04.00.29 Screen shot 2011-12-16 at AM 04.09.25

The Pineapple Rolls and Pineapple Tarts taste a little different.
The rolls are somewhat softer and the tarts are crispy!
For me, I’d very much prefer the Pineapple Rolls!

We also made Spicy Prawn Cookies!
The dough is made with curry leaves, good quality dried shrimps and other ingredients.
This is actually invented by A’s Mom and it’s really super good!
If you like the usual mini popiah haybeehiam snack, this would be 20 times better!

IMG_5995
IMG_5999
IMG_6010

Oh those are actually rice crisps on the cookie, super crispy! :)

We actually formed a production line in A’s kitchen while doing the cookies and I thought we looked quite funny.
A, her brother, Mom, maid and myself all got down to work and got busy making the cookies.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes:

A’s favourite is making these Pineapple Tarts with funny shapes on them.
One of it has a snowman on it, but the snowman look like a pile of poop. Heh! :p

IMG_5873

If you looking at getting some Chinese New Year goodies for your family and probably your partner’s family,
you can consider getting them from Aileen’s Mommy!

Other than being super yummy, these goodies are made with FRESH and great quality ingredients
because her Mom is such a perfectionist when it comes to food.
She’s been doing this for many years and the customers always come back year after year after they have tried her cookies.
There is always more customers than the year before so if you wanna get some, better order soon!
No preservatives are added to the cookies so it’s best if you finish the cookies within 3 to 4 weeks.

Here are some of the cookies available for you this year!

2011.

Before I begin on the post, I apologize for my addiction to my pageboy hat.

It was also the first time I travelled alone with Mommy.
I’m sure there will be more to come.

Grandma left us

Screen shot 2011-12-24 at AM 04.09.38

Although there is never a day that I wish she was still around to laugh with us and watch us grow,
I am sure she is in a better place now and we will meet again someday.

2011 is coming to an end.
And whether the world ends in 2012 or not, I strive to work hard and to love everyday like it’s the last.
And to cherish everything and everyone around me when I still have the chance.
We all should!

She is never too far away.

December 1st, 2011 by sixpegs

Grandma has always been more than just a Grandma.

Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 05.07.09

She was the one who brought me food every morning during my recess time during Primary School.
This is the exact gate she would pass me food through.
I took this picture a few years ago when we went back to visit the old neighborhood together.

Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 04.31.44
Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 04.31.18

When I was a kid, I used to sit behind her when she plays those four-colored cards with the neighbors.
When I used to suck on my thumb to sleep as a child, everyone would try to make me kick the habit except for her.
Because her heart would ache for me when I whisper to her at night, telling her I cannot sleep without my little thumb.
We would sleep together every night.
She snores when she sleeps. Baby snores, though they can get quite loud occasionally.

When I was a little girl, I used to try to wriggle my hand away when she hold my hands to cross the roads.
She liked to grab me at my wrist.
But I’d always try to wriggle away and hold her hand in mine instead.
It normally won’t last long before she would grab me by my wrist again though. Haha.

Those were the most vivid memories I have of Grandma when I lived with her in Boon Keng until I moved away at the age of 9.

Grandma was a very compassionate person, never failing to offer help to anyone who needs it.
She made it a point to be sincere in her relationships with everybody.
She was a really loud person – loud voice, very opinionated and happy.

Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 04.43.03
Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 05.07.16
Screen shot 2011-12-01 at AM 04.43.14

When Grandma got ill, she gradually became softer and quieter.
She doesn’t cook as much.
And the small talks with the hawkers got lesser and lesser.
She enjoys her TV programmes though, always silently nodding as she watches her favorite serial dramas.
Looking back now, I guess the change was inevitable.
She was just getting older day by day.

2 and a half months ago, the doctor told us she had cancer.
Grandma had 6 months left.
My family was crushed.
The very core person of our entire family was ill, and we were even given a time to countdown to.
It was somewhat a comforting, yet scary thing.
Comforting because we still had a little bit of time left.
Scary because.. we all know she was going to leave us soon.

Grandma left before the 6-months time was up.

I feel horrible to only be able to reach home now.
Countless videos of myself sent to her will not be able to make up for the fact that I wasn’t present.
I feel horrible for not being able to see her when she was about to go.
My heart aches.
My heart aches when I see the dearest people in my family all dressed for mourning.
And no words will be able to describe the wrench when I saw Grandma’s photo on the altar when I arrived at the wake just now.
I have never felt as late before.
The Grandma in the coffin did not look like the Grandma I remembered.

I went to the bed where Grandma last laid on and I saw the dried blood stains Mom told me about.
It kills me to hear my Mom recount how Grandma was like before she passed.
It felt so distant. And it didn’t feel like it was Grandma that my Mom was describing.
It felt like it was just few days ago when we were still having yummy carrot cake together in the hawker centre.

I still cannot believe Grandma is gone.
I will never forget your kindness, voice, face and love for not just me but every single one of us in the family, Ah Ma.

一路走好

Note: We will be with Grandma until Friday, 2nd December 2011 at Blk 273C Compassvale Link.
If you would like to pay your respects, do drop by to just say a final goodbye.

Why try to change me now?

November 28th, 2011 by sixpegs

I’m sentimental
So I walk in the rain
I’ve got some habits
Even I can’t explain
I go to the the corner
and I end up in Spain
Why try to change me now

I sit and daydream
I’ve got daydreams galore
Cigarette ashes
There they go on the floor
I go away weekends
leave my key in the door
why try to change me now

Why can’t I be more conventional
People talk
and they stare
So I try
But that can’t be
Because I can’t see
My strange little world
Just go passing me by

So let people wonder
Let ‘em laugh
Let ‘em frown
You know I’ll love you
Till the moon’s upside down
Don’t you remember
I was always your clown
so Why try to change me now

Why can’t I be more conventional
People talk
and they stare
So I try
But that can’t be
Because I can’t see
My strange little world
Just go passing me by

So let people wonder
Let ‘em laugh
Let ‘em frown
You know I’ll love you
Till the moon’s upside down
Just you remember
I was always your clown
so why try to change me
why would you want to change me
Why try to change me now

So much love!

November 18th, 2011 by sixpegs

There are so many good things happening lately!
I met up with Liying who is back from Canada for vacation.
And also introduced her to A. I’m really glad they hit it off real well too!

PB085273-1
PB085274-1

Liying is still the same, bubbly and pretty like before.
We met up for coffee and beer at Gusttimo de Roma at ION.
I really kind of like it there, especially in the afternoons when it’s not so crowded.

Another of my usual hangout now is probably TCC at Bugis because A’s office is somewhere there.
It’s a nice place to chill with a cup of my favourite White Peach Yoghurt and blog away!

And another exciting news is – Rossie is finally home!
She has been away with Roy for more than 2 years and haven’t been back at all for that 2 years odd.
But the funny thing is, when I saw her, it feels like I’ve only not met her for 2 weeks.
Everything and everyone still feels the same and she is still the same Rossie we all love!
I miss her! And I’m REALLY REALLY happy that she is back!

We met up for a short while for Sinsin’s bridal gown fitting at Tanjong Pagar area.
Time really flies.
It has been 2 years plus since Rossie left for USA and now two of my best friends are getting married to two wonderful men.
I’m really happy for them and seeing them all settle down.
What’s even more valuable is that we are all the same and always supportive of each other.

This is the anxious husband-to-be waiting for the pretty bride to be done with her fitting. :p

IMG_5345-1

And gorgeous Sinsin dear!

IMG_5347-1
IMG_5377-1

I think picking the right gown is such an important yet tiring job!
The gowns are all heavy and hard to wear and I’m glad Sinsin has picked a few gowns that she liked.
I guess it must be quite a hard task for her because she pretty much looks freaking awesome in most of the gowns!! :D

And how can I not take pictures with my dear Rossie dear! :)
Our smiles look a little numb in this picture because it was after a couple attempts while
A tries to figure out the camera settings. Heh!

And one more with Lianie dear while we wait for Sinsin dear to change. :p

Yum Woon Sen, I love you.

October 13th, 2011 by sixpegs

No, Yum Woon Sen is not some new Korean superstar, but a delicious Thai dish I’ve always loved! :p

I have always been a huge huge fan of Thai food, in fact, my whole family totally adores Thai food.
And one of my favourite Thai dish is Yum Woon Sen (ยำวุ้นเส้น), Glass Noodle Salad.
I love mine with lots of seafood, especially prawns.
But for today’s recipe, I’ve opted for something simpler – with just minced pork and prawns.
It is so easy to cook but super yummy!

For all those who loves something appetizing and extremely healthy, here is the recipe for you!

Counting

September 27th, 2011 by sixpegs

Isn’t it silly?
To mark the days
When they pass
As the world turns

Isn’t it funny?
To count the hours
When you know
There are twenty four

Isn’t it crazy
To watch the minutes
When it moves
At its own time

Isn’t it heartbreaking?
To will the seconds
When it ticks
Towards you

This is our land.

July 18th, 2011 by sixpegs

“This is our land – an island where I wander free.
Land of my birth, where my heart longs to be.
Her friendly shores welcome our fathers long ago.
Her spirit soar from strength to strength, I watch her grow!”

This has got to be one of my favourite Singapore songs.
Listening to this song reminds me of the times where my primary school classmates
and I would sing-along to the Singapore songs in our music textbook.
Songs like Singapore Town, Count On Me Singapore, Five Stars Arising and many more.
As a child, National Day is one hell of an exciting event.
Other than being able to wear red and white (and not the school uniform) to school,
it also means I get to see fireworks, watch the National Day Parade and listen to all the Singapore songs all at once!

As I grew older, I realized that I am getting harder to please.

I complain about not getting a long weekend because
National Day is falling on a Tuesday instead of a Monday or a Friday.
I complain about the crowds on the trains and buses every time after the National Day Parade ends.
I complain when I dislike how the NDP Song sounds.
Fireworks no longer thrill me.
And I find myself too busy convincing myself on how the National Day celebration is probably
going to be boring that I have lost the ability to realize that it is a day
to celebrate Singapore’s independence and freedom.

I love Singapore. There is no doubt about it.
I was born here. I grew up here. My family is here. My friends are here.
This is home.
I like how we grew from just having a Merlion to today’s Esplanade and Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands.
I like how I have seen how Mediacorp used to be called TCS and SBC.
I like remembering how Yishun used to be NS-12, the last stop on the MRT North-South line
(which is totally massive now).
At times like this, I realized that though I don’t sing-along to
Singapore songs or wear red and white on National Day anymore,
I am still always proud to be a Singaporean.

The Singapore Spirit is about embracing what we have achieved together so far
– each one of us contributing to building the country in our own little way.
Even through me blogging, I’m sure I have reminded some of you on
how much you used to love singing to those old-school evergreen Singapore songs!

The next time you want to complain about the National Day being a bore,
why not stop to think about how lucky we are to be living in Singapore?

Though National Day falls on a Tuesday and not a Monday,
it still means we’re getting a shorter work week!
Before you complain about how the crowds from NDP are clogging up the trains,
stop to look at the little Singapore flags those people have drawn on their faces,
and how wonderful that the National Day is actually a huge birthday party we are all involved in?
Take time off your mundane everyday life to throw your heads up and look at the fireworks in awe.

This is home.

I’m going to the NDP Preview with my family! <3
Do check out more about this year’s NDP here too.

Winter, be gone.

May 3rd, 2011 by sixpegs

Thank you, reader Sam.
That was really really sweet.

Once a time
I am well acquainted with fame.
at least i wished to be.
I wished to be surrounded by friends
and of cos friends-to-be.
I thought that life should go on like a busy bee.

and then one day someone free
came to my little tree.
I guess it felt good that a pretty bird,
chose me and yes it became we.

but winter comes and the bird leaves.
Now without the songs with the wind.
It suddenly feels really very cold
and really very empty.

Everyone says winter is pretty
oh, how wrong they could be.
because when winter comes and all is left
is me and only me.
they forgot it could be pain,
they forgot it could get mean.
they forgot that
they have their little piece of summer and spring.

But blame them not you see.
For they can never really understand,
unless they are as lonely as we.

But I promise you.
that spring will always come by you’ll see.
and see through us till flowers bloom again.
along with many bees.
this time with wisdom you shall be.
learn and guard yourself,
don’t let anyone land so free.

so now cry and tear and go destroying.
for thats how winter should be.
only through letting a broken heart bleed
then will you grow and bloom afree.
you have come a long way as we,
now learn to part. rmber you were glorious without we.
what makes u think its going to be creepy?
within me and all that cares for thee,
wishes for spring will come n it will be.

- PS:
I really like your blog and I don’t want to probe into anything but write a poem back to yours.
I believe in a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
and it will never happen if it doesn’t rain. ;)

How to be alone.

April 26th, 2011 by sixpegs

HOW TO BE ALONE by Tanya Davis

If you are at first lonely, be patient.
If you’ve not been alone much, or if when you were, you weren’t okay with it, then just wait.
You’ll find it’s fine to be alone once you’re embracing it.

We could start with the acceptable places, the bathroom, the coffee shop, the library.
Where you can stall and read the paper, where you can get your caffeine fix and sit and stay there.
Where you can browse the stacks and smell the books.
You’re not supposed to talk much anyway so it’s safe there.

There’s also the gym.
If you’re shy you could hang out with yourself in mirrors, you could put headphones in.

And there’s public transportation, because we all gotta go places.

And there’s prayer and meditation.
No one will think less if you’re hanging with your breath seeking peace and salvation.

Start simple. Things you may have previously based on your avoid being alone principals.

The lunch counter. Where you will be surrounded by chow-downers.
Employees who only have an hour and their spouses work across town
and so they — like you — will be alone.

Resist the urge to hang out with your cell phone.

When you are comfortable with eat lunch and run, take yourself out for dinner.
A restaurant with linen and silverware.
You’re no less intriguing a person when you’re eating solo dessert
to cleaning the whipped cream from the dish with your finger.
In fact some people at full tables will wish they were where you were.

Go to the movies. Where it is dark and soothing.
Alone in your seat amidst a fleeting community.
And then, take yourself out dancing to a club where no one knows you.
Stand on the outside of the floor till the lights convince you more and more and the music shows you. Dance like no one’s watching…because, they’re probably not.
And, if they are, assume it is with best of human intentions.
The way bodies move genuinely to beats is, after all, gorgeous and affecting.
Dance until you’re sweating, and beads of perspiration remind you of life’s best things,
down your back like a brook of blessings.

Go to the woods alone, and the trees and squirrels will watch for you.
Go to an unfamiliar city, roam the streets,
there are always statues to talk to and benches made for sitting
give strangers a shared existence if only for a minute and these moments can be so uplifting
and the conversations you get in by sitting alone on benches
might’ve never happened had you not been there by yourself.

Society is afraid of alonedom, like lonely hearts are wasting away in basements,
like people must have problems if, after a while, nobody is dating them.
But lonely is a freedom that breaths easy and weightless and lonely is healing if you make it.

You could stand, swathed by groups and mobs or hold hands with your partner,
look both further and farther for the endless quest for company.
But no one’s in your head and by the time you translate your thoughts,
some essence of them may be lost or perhaps it is just kept.

Perhaps in the interest of loving oneself,
Perhaps all those sappy slogans from preschool over to high school’s groaning
were tokens for holding the lonely at bay.
Cuz if you’re happy in your head than solitude is blessed and alone is okay.

It’s okay if no one believes like you.
All experience is unique, no one has the same synapses, can’t think like you,
for this be relieved, keeps things interesting life’s magic things in reach.

And it doesn’t mean you’re not connected, that communities not present,
just take the perspective you get from being one person in one head and feel the effects of it.
Take silence and respect it. if you have an art that needs a practice, stop neglecting it.
If your family doesn’t get you, or religious sect is not meant for you, don’t obsess about it.

You could be in an instant surrounded if you needed it
If your heart is bleeding make the best of it.
There is heat in freezing, be a testament.

Love is so short.

Forgetting is so long.

Calendar Girl.

April 24th, 2011 by sixpegs

If I am lost for a day, try to find me
But if I don’t come back, then I won’t look behind me
All of the things that I thought were so easy
Just got harder and harder each day

December is darkest and June is the light
But this empty bedroom won’t make anything right
While out on the landing a friend I forgot to send home
Who waits up for me all through the night

Calendar girl who’s in love with the world
Stay alive
Calendar Girl who’s in love with the world
Stay alive

I dreamed I was dying, as I so often do
And when I awoke I was sure it was true
I ran to the window, threw my head to the sky
And said whoever is up there, please don’t let me die

But I can’t live forever, I can’t always be
One day I’ll be sat on a beach by the sea
The pages keep turning, I’ll mark off each day with a cross
And I’ll laugh about all that we’ve lost

Calendar Girl who is lost to the world
Stay Alive
Calendar Girl who is lost to the world
Stay Alive

January, February, March, April, May I’m alive
June, July, August, September,October I’m alive
November, December, you all through the winter, I’m alive
I’m alive

I get along without you very well.

April 11th, 2011 by sixpegs

I get along without you very well, of course I do.

Except when soft rains fall and drip from leaves, then I recall
The thrill of being sheltered in your arms, of course I do.
But I get along without you very well.

I’ve forgotten you, just like I should, of course I have.

Except to hear your name, or someone’s laugh that is the same.
But I’ve forgotten you just like I should.

What a guy! What a fool am I?
To think my breaking heart could kid the moon.

What’s in store? Should I ‘phone once more?
No, it’s best that I stick to my tune.

I get along without you very well, of course I do.

Except perhaps in spring, but I should never think of spring
For that would surely break my heart in two.

Wake up call.

I got absolutely no idea how or when this party streak started.
But this couple weeks has been totally fun to the brim for me – party after party, events after events.
I am glad to announce that I’m feeling like that 19 year old Peggy Chang again! :p

Rachie brought me and an entourage of babes to the Johnnie Walker event held at Red Dot Museum last Saturday.
It has been such a long time since I last hung out with Rachie and Michelle and I so miss them!
We have spent the craziest nights screaming out lungs out together in Phuture.
Hahahaha. I miss being irresponsible and days where I fought to stay sober enough by 4am to stumble home.
Heh! Very bad.
*Note to self: Being domesticated is good, pegs*

Anyways, I was saying how awesome this Johnnie Walker event is right?
Here are some pictures we snapped at the party!
I’m wearing this white gorgeous (and comfy though shapeless) shirtdress that I love!
Stupid Alvin Leong says it looks like PJs. Bitch. Hahaha.
