Almost like addicted to travel and visiting various charming little hotels,
A and I stumbled upon this beautiful gem while we were surfing the net the other day and decided to give it a try.
WANDERLUST, according to the dictionary, is “a strong desire to travel”.
What a beautiful word! ♥
We were even more impressed when we got to the hotel!
The interiors of the hotel was super gorgeous – I love the details of every wall, every corner.
Even the exterior of the hotel is super nice.
It was actually a school many decades ago and the building was preserved to become the Wanderlust Hotel today.

There are a lot of cute little signs and small details that showed how much effort was put into the decor of this place.
I was super trigger happy when I was there!
I wish I could bring this lightbox home! :p

There is a bar at the lobby with live acoustic music at night.
The chairs are damn cute. There were like barber chairs and even those that looked like supermarket trolleys.

When we checked in, we were handed this little book that looks like some old school miniature jotter book.
All the details about the hotel are written in there,
something very different from other hotels which normally has their information booklets placed in their rooms.
What’s even nicer is that the book is SUPER CUTE!
(comes with a small red pencil too!)

Even the room card is also freaking cute.

We booked a Whimsical Loft for the night.
There are actually 9 different lofts, all with different designs.
So anticipating which room we’ll get is also quite exciting.
And we… got the Typewriter Monster room!

It is really a super mega huge typewriter!
Need to type with your whole palm. Hahahaha!
The loft is super cool too. It’s like a metal frame which looks super industrial.
I like the whole look and feel of the whole room.
And hor, those of you who has houses with high ceiling can consider doing such metal frames too!
It doesn’t has to be attached to the walls and floor so you don’t have to apply for permit from HDB.
Ok, just saying. Heh!

I also popped by A’s house for her Mom’s little cut cake ceremony on Saturday night.
Her family is damn cute.
They would gather around in the kitchen and have a cut cake ceremony for every single family member’s birthday.
Her Mom would bake a cake for each and every one of them too.
It’s her Mom’s birthday and none of them can bake, so we got one from Hotel Intercontinental. Heh!

I was SO excited when I heard that I’ll be part of the F1 Grand Prix weekend.
It was my first time watching the race live and it was really an exhilarating experience.
First and foremost, I want to extend my thanks to PROTON for the invitation. :)

I attended the PROTON roadshow on Friday night at Clarke Quay and
had the chance to check out the cars on display in close proximity, the Lotus-Renault Grand Prix showcar,
the Lotus Evora and the R3 Satria Neo.
Present at the roadshow were a couple of celebrities and PROTON Australia ambassador
and eye candy Miss Universe Australia, Scherri lee Biggs.
Awesomeness!

There was also this really interesting game there that really caught my attention.
This game is called Batak and it is supposedly
a game to train hand-eye coordination and reaction time.
The public was invited to try it and the average score that night, as I noticed, is about 50 odd.
According to what I found out from the organizers, the racers all clocked a minimum of 90 for their scores!
Super fast reaction!

Anyway, here is a video I found on Youtube so you can see how the Batak works.
This fella in this clip got some supersonic hands man!

And I didn’t play the game (scared I might score too little and be paiseh since it’s so crowded) Heh!

The next day, I was honoured to be invited to take a tour around the more exclusive area
where the racers chill and relax when they are not racing!
I also got the chance to walk around the pitstop areas and find out more about what goes on behind the scene.

And my VIP pass! :D

I can’t believe I was just sitting outside the rooms where the racers are doing their massages. Hahahaha.
I may sound bimbotic here but I think many F1 fans would kill to go where I went. :p
Anyway I peeped into one of the rooms and saw one of the racers being massaged. Hahaha!

These racers are all so young!
I think some of them are not even of legal age to rent a car! It’s amazing.

That’s Lotus Renault! Yeps, the highlight of my visit there was to take a look at the pitstop area.
That is like the most private areas there so I wasn’t allowed to take photos in there.
But it was really eye opening and I learnt a couple things about the engineering that went on behind these races.
I never knew there are so many types of tyres, and that they are all pre-warmed to about 90 over degrees C before the races
so that they can perform optimally.
And if you think watching the races would hurt your ears,
wait will you stand right next to the engines and hear them rave the engines up to test them.
Insane.

By the way, this are the nice PROTON and Lotus reps who brought me around that day.

And these are dry weather. How on earth can the cars stay on the ground at such high speed with tyres like that?!

It was such a great experience. And yes the banner here is right.
“Nothing else comes close”!

I was also invited to one amazing F1 party at 1 Altitude where
there is a whole line of Lotus sports cars along the main road just outside the club.
Everyone there were all dressed up immaculately and everything looks so posh and done up.
It was my first time to 1 Altitude and I actually lost my way as I was trying to get there.
But fortunately there were this two really friendly Swedish guys who led me there and they even got A into the party as well!

Awesomeness! This is A and I looking happy at the party. Hahaha.
It was really a great party and everyone there were all so friendly!

25th September 2011 – the actual day of the race!
I was given a seat at the Bay Grandstand where the view was spectacular
with the beautiful Marina Bay Sands and Arts Science Museum as backdrop.
Watching the race on the television and watching it live is such a different experience.
The raving of the engines, the screeching of the tyres, the exclamation of the crowds made everything exhilarating!

These are the two Malaysian bloggers who came to Singapore to cover the event.

I decided that I couldn’t just sit there throughout the 61 laps so I ventured out
and strolled around the vicinity in hopes of getting some pictures.
Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t good enough to snap a decent picture of the fast cars.

Most of the photos ended up like that. I can almost hear the “ZOOOOOOM!” when I look at the photos!
Hahahahaha!

All in all, I really had a good time even thought I was sweating buckets and had to walk so much.
It was really great to be part of this whole amazing F1 Grand Prix and big thanks to PROTON for the love!

BUT that said, I really appreciate the effort & I had a lot of fun.

Oh! Before I go on and talk about what we did in the hotel, here’s my awesome present from A again!
I’ve been looking at this bag on Net-a-porter for the longest time and she got it for me!
She tried keeping it a secret as well. Hahahahaha!
But just 1 day before my birthday, I wanted to go online and just buy it for myself.
She knew and totally FREAKED OUT!
HAHAHAHA! And confessed that she already bought it for me.
YAY! I win. :p

The present came early.
I LURVE IT! Thanks A!

A was the first one to wish me happy birthday.
She crept into the room at midnight with home made vanilla (my fave!) ice cream “cake”!

And made mee suah with egg for me for breakfast the next morning! It was SUPER YUMMY!

The suite they got was totally fabulous.
Spacious and has everything we needed.
I love the bath tub! And I love the little partition between the living area and the bedroom. :)
Good choice, girls! Heh.

I’m too fat. Can’t get through.

A and I reached the hotel earlier so we went to check out the pool.
It’s quiet and not very crowded when we first arrived, which was awesome!

We spent the afternoons doing ridiculous wanna-feel-young-again things like blowing plastic bubbles.
I miss these plastic bubbles man! In fact, I think we all miss them!

It was a quiet affair.
Chatting, eating junk food, and playing games like Monopoly Deal and Luck of Draw.
I enjoyed the company of these people! :)

I think the girls are now all hooked on Monopoly Deal.

OkI’m looking super retarded here.

Crazy Sinsin dear wasn’t winning so she got a little mad.
That’s her shuffling the cards like a mad woman, telling us no one is leaving unless she wins at least once.
Hahahaha!

There was also Spiderboy and Wolverine.
I’m certain it wasn’t Spiderman because that Spidey was shorter than me.
I asked him why he’s so short. He said he didn’t drink enough milk.

Rachie brought me and an entourage of babes to the Johnnie Walker event held at Red Dot Museum last Saturday.
It has been such a long time since I last hung out with Rachie and Michelle and I so miss them!
We have spent the craziest nights screaming out lungs out together in Phuture.
Hahahaha. I miss being irresponsible and days where I fought to stay sober enough by 4am to stumble home.
Heh! Very bad.

On Sunday, Buttons drove me to Funan to go shopping for that amazing ring light every damn blogger is using.
Okay I used to think that it’s just a stupid fluorescent ring and you can take good pictures
as long as you have good light, whatever the source of the light may be.
But dammit, I was so wrong.

After being tempted by Valerie the evil ring light owner (Hehehe!) at the recent Whisper party,
I decided that I NEED to get my hands on one too!

AND SO I DID! Here are some cranky looking test shots I did the moment I carried my new toy home. :p

I have received a lot of comments about my curly hair!
There are people who said the hair made me look Korean, made me look Indian,
some said I look like auntie, some called me Cupid.
And a few of my colleagues told me to remove my “helmet” when I’m indoors.

Anyway I really loved the curly hair and I had a lot of fun with it!
But unfortunately, the curls has reached their expiry date. Hahaha.

I had lunch at La Nonna with my colleagues again on Thursday.
The bargain queen in me appreciates and loves the 50% off lunchtime offer at La Nonna.
After the discounts, the prices of the pasta is about the same as that from Pasta Mania.
But the pasta here is so much better compared to the clumpy noodles from Pasta Mania.

Thursday was a great day also because I got to meet up with my beautiful old friends!
I also brought Jayne, Alvin and Herwin to the Puma party held at Blu Jaz, Bali Lane.
It has been a while since I last met the trio and they’re still looking pretty fabulous!

Me love free flow of alcohol! The only bad part was that it was a Thursday and not Friday.
Bleah!

It was the kickoff party to a series of parties Puma will be organizing.
The theme of the parties was “Over Hours Athletes” & that explains the table soccer and pingpong tables there.
My favourite after-hours activity though, will have to boozing. :p
And having awesome company is always the most important thing to having fun!
I think I’ve been deprived of good fun for too long. Haa!

Jayne is really pretty!

Went for supper feeling slightly “happy”. And I got upset with a grain of rice that got stuck on my hand.

I crawled my way back to work on Friday without much makeup (I’d used the makeup time to snooze). Heh!
It was the release of 2010 A Level Results and I need to be at NJC to cover the event for my company.
I was actually just supposed to be there and see see look look but I decided to be kaypo and help take some pics. :p
These students… are freaking smart lor!
And it was only NJC, I cannot imagine how things are like in places like RJC and HCI.
People can get 8 distinctions lor!
Got so many subjects to study in JC one meh!
I only took 3 during my time and it almost killed me already.

Wtf man.

The venue was this place called the Book Club at Martin Road.
I love this place! It’s cosy and quiet, great for anyone who wants to spend some me-time with a cuppa hot chocolate.

I also saw other familiar faces there like Beatrice, Esther, Ben and Randy.

I requested for the orange one. Pretty right!

Forever is a film by local director Wee Li Lin, starring Joanna Dong and Taiwanese actor Mo Tzu Yi.
And the best part is – Buttons wrote the theme song (and couple other pieces here and there) for this movie!!

Anyways, I was at the gala premiere of Forever at Vivocity earlier this week!
I was more like Button’s personal photographer actually, following him around to take pictures for him. :p

He wore a suit and I was in my ripped jeans,

Happy because the film is finally over and it was a success.
He has been working with the Forever crew for more than a year (I think),
and I’m really happy for him.
I was very proud to sit beside him that night. :)
I hope he will have more projects, bigger and bigger projects in future!
It’s really different listening to his theme song from the big screen
as compared to listening to it on his computer speakers. :p

Buttons was particularly proud of how well the male lead was on the guitar!
Buttons has been coaching and guiding him for all the parts
where the lead was supposed to play on the guitar.

My hair was getting a little out of hand recently.
It has been almost 2 months since I last had a haircut.
2 months for a girl with long hair is probably still alright.
But 2 months for short hair is equivalent to probably.. 4 months for long hair?
Hahaha! Anyway, the hair was getting really unkempt with hair sticking out everywhere.
Sideburns are all too long and messy too.
I hate it.

And so, I visited my favourite Salon Vim to look for Luis the saviour. Haha! :p
I love how he can always surprise me with his suggestions and tricks.
Everytime when I give instructions that are too specific, I end up getting haircuts that look almost the same.
And it totally sucks to have friends saying “You look the same leh!” after
you excitedly tell them you just got a haircut!

So this time, see what I did!

CURLY WURLY! CURLY WURLY! CURLY WURLY!

I got what they call a “body perm” and it added more waves (more like waves than curls) to my hair.
The slight curls gave my hair more volume and definition. I totally dig it!

I bought two UglyDolls 2 days ago and I decided to conveniently pull them in as photo friends. :p
Oh! Their names are Deer Ugly and Pointy Max.

It’s never easy trying to spice up my short haircut.
I’m someone who loves loves loves getting my hair done and
