My Estee Lauder.

August 30th, 2011 by sixpegs

This post is way overdue, but I’m still full of excitement about the new Idealist even Skintone Illuminator that
I’ve received courtesy of the fabulous Estee Lauder!
I attended the Estee Lauder workshop with many bloggers like Qiuting, Beatrice and Velda,
and we all learnt a thing or two more about caring for our skin.

And the best thing of all, is that we all get to bring a bottle of this amazing new product home to try! :)

The texture of this product is a shimmery gold and it gives the skin an INSTANT (and I really meant INSTANT) glow!
It looks absolutely natural, very different from the other illuminating products I’ve tried before.
What’s best is that it will also help correct uneven skin tone and give us the much-desired even skin we’ve always dreamt of.
I love it from the first moment I’ve tried it on.
Use it before the moisturizer.

And for moisturizer, the lovely ladies at Estee Lauder recommended us to their Hydrationist,
a lightweight moisturizer that glides on the skin oh-so-smoothly.
Superb combination for a dewy glowing complexion!

Other than that, the workshop was also a ball of fun! Pretty cupcakes,
yummy finger food, polaroids (and other stuff for us to decorate our polaroids),
it was a delightful and girly afternoon for me and the many other who attended.
After we were “educated” about the products, we also had a hands-on session
where we all removed makeup and tried on the products together!
I’ve never had a mass “remove makeup and let’s apply products and put on our makeup together again” session before. Hahaha.
It was quite interesting!

And I absolutely love the polaroids we took that afternoon!
The different designs on the three polaroids totally reflects our personalities. Heh!

Ok I have to end this post with this gorgeous photo I took at home on my study table.
It’s gorgeous right! Hehehe.
Don’t forget to try the new Even Skintone Illuminator from Estee Lauder because everyone deserves to glow!

Alice and Jimmy brought us to this really cute and cozy breakfast place in 內湖 area too.
It’s called Elephant Garden, or 象園 in Chinese.
The deco of that place is really adorable.
I also like how it has an alfresco dining area! :)
Oh we also saw that celebrity called 林佑威 there!
He used to be in this duo called Wewe, which was once quite popular when I was still in secondary school. Hahahaha.
I pointed him out to A, but she wasn’t impressed at all. LOL.
You can see him in the second picture in the top right corner, he is dressed in black.
Ok, I feel like a stalker.
Anyways, this Elephant Garden is really nice. I like it! :)

That day was also the first day where A and I could venture out on our own for the entire day.
We felt bad having Auntie Connie drive us around everywhere we went, so it was nice to be on our own. :)
We visited 淡水, one of my favourite places in Taiwan.
I remembered the last time when I was there, I stood by a busker and hear him sing till I cried.
I’m glad that I’m a happier person now when I’m there again.

This visit to 淡水 was kinda different from the last few times I was there.
A and I played old school games and won some silly blown-up toys. :p

I woke up early this morning.

August 25th, 2011 by sixpegs

Old-classroom-chairs-300x214

I was at home, in the living room doing my own stuff.
My Granny was by the window looking out.
She suddenly called out to me all panicky, and told me there is a huge accident under my block.
I looked out and several cars crushed up against one of the huge pillars downstairs.
Couple hours later, I felt the building shaking.
It was swaying rather wildly (which is impossible in real life).
I told my Granny to ignore it. Assuring her that everything is ok.

Then the next thing I knew, Granny and I were standing just right outside my main door checking out the situation
when the building started to give way.
She was standing in front of me at my 2 o’clock.
I held both her hands tightly.
The building crumbled.

I was trapped in darkness for a few second.
I knew I was trapped among the rubbles. I can hardly move.
In fact, I was too scared to move.
Then at the very next moment, I heard a huge sound and felt immense pain and pressure on my body.
It was only for a very short while.
And then it ended abruptly again.

I woke up again to find myself in the left, back corner of a small rundown classroom.
It was gloomy and dimly-lit.
There were posters and pictures with lots of scribbling on them on the walls.
There was also a white board in front of the classroom.

I looked down on my left shoulder and saw some sticky stuff on my arm.
I felt dirty and wet. But there was no pain.
There were ants crawling around on my arms and shoulder.
I wasn’t afraid.

I stood up and started walking around the room gingerly.
A little while later, people started streaming into the room.
They walked in quietly and each took a seat.
All of them had a straight face and didn’t look too happy.
I took a seat too, somewhere in the middle of the room, in one of the back rows.
The person standing before us was a man.
He started pointing to the posters and pictures on the wall and told us about the misconceptions the “mortals” had about the afterlife,
and how ignorant we actually were.
He didn’t sound very friendly. In fact, he sounded more like he was mocking us.

The person sitting on my left is a man, the one on my right, a lady.
The man seemed a little weird. But I cannot remember why.
He attempted to speak to me, but I ignored him most of the time.

The man who was lecturing us then started passing out a stack of photos.
My photo came rather late.
The lady on my right received her photo.
It was a picture of her and her loved ones.
There was also a middle age woman seated a row in front of my who received her photo.
She held it tightly and started crying uncontrollably.

My photo was a picture of a teenage me carrying my young brother in my arms.
We were both smiling in there.
That photo I saw didn’t exist in real life.
It was a collage of various pictures that I had.
There was also a picture of my brother when he was older, and another one of me when I was still in Primary School.
I saw the photos and started sobbing too.

Then as the man continued talking, I started having visions.
I can see images of my old organizer, at the “Daily” page where there is a small space next to every date.
I see the words appearing, as if I could read them instantly as they were being written.
It was A writing.
I couldn’t see her in the dream but I knew it was her.
Perhaps it was because I could recognize her handwriting, perhaps because I just knew it was her.
She must have taken my organizer and used it as a diary.
She wrote about how much she missed me and described her day-to-day activities to me.
The date she was writing in is a few days before a column which says “Lianie’s 32nd birthday”.

That was one hell of a creepy dream.

Taiwan in August

I visited Taiwan again!
This time round, it’s with A and to meet her family friends.
The trip was FILLED with eating and eating and eating I swear I put on at least 5 kg at the end of the 11-days trip!
But that said, it was totally enjoyable and we both had so much fun.
Made a few really awesome people, tried many of the wonderful food from Taiwan,
and saw Taiwan through the locals’ eyes.

It was unbelievably fabulous!

I have SO many pictures on hand.
A and I took a grand total of 1200 odd pictures!
It’s impossible to feature all of them (I even have trouble trying to figure out the sequence of the photographs),
so I’m just gonna try my best here.

We spent the nights there in a small family-style Indonesian Restaurant called Kampung Bali in 內湖 area when we were there.
Auntie Connie, A’s family friend, was nice enough to get us the extra room there.
It helped us save a lot on accommodation! :)

This is Auntie Connie (left) and Auntie Lily, they are like our Mommies when we were in Taiwan.
Especially Auntie Connie who helped arrange everything for us – from food, to transport, to our well being,
making sure we are always feeling fine and never hungry.

After lunch at the nearby Miramar Shopping Mall in 內湖 with the aunties,
A and I went out to 西門町 area to do the typical touristy things – shopping and EAT EAT EAT.
*big grin*
We each got a pair of Tiger Onizuka (cause my shoes were killing me that day) & were super happy with our buys.
I bought a black bowler hat too, and I made A wear it because she looks great with it! :)

We also had tea at this little cafe and had entertained ourselves with the salt and pepper shakers!
Hahahahaha.

And of course, how can we not pay a visit to 阿宗麵線 when we are in the area!
I love eating this! <3
