Before blogs, there were diaries.

I came home today feeling overwhelmed by acute nostalgia.
I knew instantly it’s one of those times when I need to lug out my old diaries and start reading them again.

Something silly.

November 19th, 2010 by sixpegs

A friend of mine did an interesting post on her blog titled “100 interesting things about myself”.
I thought it was pretty interesting and it sounds like it can help kill time,
so I decided maybe I should also do something similar on this sleepless Thursday night.

Let’s see.

1. I prefer angular tables to round ones
2. Most of my clothes are black, white, grey and brown in color.
3. I’m currently hooked on the theme song from movie “Il Postino”.
4. My CCA in primary school was gardening. (I can’t believe it either)
5. I was also in table tennis, but only because the teacher-in-charge liked me a lot.
6. He was my Chinese teacher and I was the apple of his eye.
7. He calls me 宝贝 in class.
8. I guess that’s why Chinese was one of my favourite subjects in school.
9. Dimly lit rooms make me sleepy.
10. I hate wearing jeans.
11. I love dark red nails.
12. I prefer old songs.

24. I also love the smell of freshly cut grass.
25. Sometimes, I catch myself reading shampoo bottles while bathing.
26. My favourite number is six.
27. I don’t like the numerical 6, I prefer to see it being spelt out.
28. Because it is aesthetically more pleasing.
29. I love and hate my university life.
30. And I don’t really like talking about it.
31. I spent six years in university.
32. Okay, that’s all I’m gonna say about university.

57. Another movie that I really love is “Cinema Paradiso”.
58. I think I can sing quite well.

84. They are called Rudolph and Brinjal.
85. No I’m not ashamed and there is nothing embarrassing about this.

97. I dragged my Dad into the convenience store and made him buy it for me when he was drunk one night.
98. My boyfriend just said that he likes it when I sit down quietly to write because it feels so “Bohemian”. Haha!
99. You need to understand. He is a music composer.
100. I’m sure this whole list is littered with lots of grammatical mistakes.

It’s Friday now and I’ll soon be meeting up with three of my Primary School classmates.
We used to stick to each other like glue back in those days.
We would head over to each other’s place and chat the afternoons away.
Sometimes we’d talk about boys, sometimes we’d just laze around and do nothing.

Priscilla and Magdalene used to be prefects back in those days.
And they were the ones who led the school at reciting the nation pledge every morning at school assembly.
Can you imagine how awesome it was to be in their clique? Heh!

Grace was the most amazing friend I had in Primary School.
We were together almost everyday. We wore each others’ clothes and even undergarments.
She was the one who taught me how to cycle.
And when I fell, she was the one who helped me up and nursed my wounds.
She is now a happy mother of two and I can’t wait to see her again later this evening.
I wish I had the time and heart to write like this every single day.
Feels like one of those diary-writing days again.
Goodnight everyone.

P.S. He is playing the Il Postino theme song on his guitar now. I like to be serenaded.

Buttons.
