KOSE Junkisei Prime.

June 25th, 2010 by sixpegs

By now, I am sure most of you readers would have known
my greatest open secret to having fresh-looking supple skin.
Yes, the answer is none other than ample hydration.

Our skin needs lots of fluid and with sufficient hydration, you can keep premature aging and dullness at bay.
And because hydrated skin can better regulate the production of sebum in our skin,
caring for your skin with good hydration products can also prevent unwanted pimples and blemishes.

And of course, having good skin is like having a good canvas to paint on.
Applying makeup is going to be a breeze once you can maintain healthily hydrated skin!
I was proud to be invited to review one of Kose’s latest range called Junkisei!
I am really excited about this because I have tried many other products from Kose,
and I am especially impressed by their powdered facial wash and “black” whitening mask!
The new Junkisei range, however, is formulated mainly for ladies who want more hydration in their skin.
After trying out the products from this new range,
I realized that it did help maintain the hydration of my skin!
I have always been in air-conditioned rooms for most times of the day and
that really strips the skin of its natural moisture.
To me, I think the Junkisei range did a good job
because it managed to keep the skin feel supple and “new looking” without making it feel greasy.

Here is an introduction of a few products in the Junkisei range –

The Junkisei Oil Cleansing is a great cleanser which doubles up as a very effective makeup remover.
I am amazed at how it even managed to remove my waterproof mascara!
I am going to save up on all those cotton pads from now on. Haha!
I have always been a little skeptical about using oil based cleansing products
because I have the impression that it will be very greasy and hard to handle.
But after I tried this one out, I realized that it is totally different from what I have imagined.

After I spread and blend the oil with the makeup on my face,
I wet my hands briefly and then start cleaning my face by massaging with my fingers.
When the oil comes into contact with water, it becomes an emulsion!

The emulsion then removes the makeup very efficiently.
After you rinse off the emulsion, your face will feel supple and velvety soft!

A personal tip here – if your face feels tight and “way too squeaky” after you wash your face,
your facial cleanser is probably too drying for your skin.
So do take note of this when you shop for your cleansers!

The Junkisei Cream Wash will then be the next item for you to
thoroughly clean your face to get rid of any makeup or dirt that remains on your face.
I like the “natural” smell of this wash and it works into a lather really easily.
I like that.

Oh and another tip for cleansing, opt for room temperature or lukewarm water when you wash your face.

They work better than warm or cool water! :p

The next product you should use after the wash – the Junkisei Lotion.
This product is not exactly a toner because it contains very low alcohol content.
But similar to how a toner works, you can use a cotton pad to gently spread the lotion over your skin.
This step will help to soften your skin.
This is one of my favourite products from this range because
I can almost really feel the hydration power of this one! Hahaha!
If you’re also a fan of non-alcoholic lotions, you should try this one out.
It is selling in stores at just $20.90! Good deal.

After the lotion, I would recommend using the Milky Lotion which will
further enhance the hydration effects from the lotion.
This one is said to keep skin plump and soft by retaining the moisture in our skin! Similar to the lotion,
you can work this product on your face using a cotton pad.

And of course, all girls need a good night cream.
This Junkisei Night Cream really has the ability to make the skin feel very lustrous and hydrated.
On the first night when I tried this, I applied too much and it got kinda messy.
After reading up more about this product,
I realized that you actually only need the cream in the size of a small pearl! Super thrifty!!
I tried the cream the following night again and it was totally perfect.

The best part is – my skin still feels very, very hydrated the following morning!!

And of course, they also pampered me by giving me some Prime sheet masks! I love these masks!
These masks are like super effective pick-me-ups on days when you feel you need some SOS for dry skin! I’d recommend these masks to all girls who want affordable and effective hydration masks!
It is only priced at $21.90 for 4 sheets, I think it’s rather good value for money.

Interview with My Fat Pocket.

June 25th, 2010 by sixpegs

Such a strong woman like her, who can resist such panache and charm?
Peggy has been blogging since 2005 but not only is she famous in the blogosphere,
she is also a familiar face on the silver screen as well as in stock images library.
Peggy Chang is a graduate from Nanyang Technological University
and lives by the motto of “Never let anybody tell you what you can or cannot do.”

We spoke to her and the very one thing I like most about her is… her humility:

“It is a blessing for me though, that after having brushed shoulders with all these glamour and temptations,
I’ve still stayed pretty grounded.”

Why did you name your blog “Sixpegs”?

Well, pegs is from my name ‘Peggy’ and my birth date falls on the 6th of August.
Coincidentally, 6 is my favourite number as well.
It is easy to remember because it sounds like six packs too, so I decided to call my blog ‘sixpegs’.

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging in 2005. It has been such a long time!

What interests you in modelling?

Modelling is interesting because you pose like a soccer player one day,
and dress up like a bride the very next day.
It allows you to meet many interesting people and also made me more ‘street-smart’ in the process.

The biggest lesson you have learnt is “Never let anybody tell you what you can or cannot do.”
Would you like to share the experience you learnt this lesson from?

I definitely didn’t learn this from just one incident.
Being a typical Leo, I am proud and as obstinate as a mule.
I hate having people to tell me what is the right way or the wrong way to do things.
Because I believe that sometimes, even when I take a longer wrong,
or the so-called wrong route, I see more and I learn more.

I realised that you have always had short hair. Every tried growing a tress?

I have always wanted long and wavy hair.
Do you know that I even tried having hair extensions?
It was such a disaster. Well, I love the feeling of having a haircut too much I guess.
It feels as if I have just left some of my troubles behind in the salon
and starting out as a ‘fresh new, different person’ again.

You mentioned that you like Marilyn Monroe. What about her that appeals to you?

She is a small girl looking for a love in a big and colourful world.
All the men in the world adore her, but not one of these men can give her the love a woman deserves.
She is beautiful and is not afraid to show the world what she has.
She knows her strengths and weaknesses. She is such an enchanting character.
I wish I knew her.

She once said “I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” I’ll always remember her wise words.

If you can turn back time, what would you change?

Do you know of the butterfly effect?
I think I am too afraid to take the chance and change anything in my life.
Everything happens for a reason.

You are given 24 hours to spend time with anyone. Who would that lucky person be?

My mom.

Tell us more about “Sunday Advertorials.”

Sunday Advertorials is like a place for you to check back every Sunday for new updates from blogshops. This will be a terrific place for you if you’re a blogshop shopaholic.
Some may say that you can be a mailing list member at the blogshop to be updated of their new launches, but how many dozen mailing lists can one join?

Thus, I decided that I should do this advertorial thing and make it a Sunday thing because that’s when people are bored at home and dreading Monday.
Retail therapy will surely work.

Sunday Advertorials is a great place for new blogshops to meet the world too!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I hope I will be married by then.
I can blog all about my life as a married young lady working in the society.
Ideally, I also want to be a mother in 5 years time.

What would advise young girls out there who would like to carve a modelling career path for themselves?

Go and do it. And remember, don’t let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.
If you think you want to know how it feels like to be a model, then go ahead and be one.
Be proactive, and be open-minded about it.
Go talk to people and approach people or agencies.

In your own definition, what makes a woman modern and smart?

To be modern and smart, this woman has to be confident, well informed and resourceful.
It is also important to have good social skills and a high EQ.

What, to you, is being financially independent?

Being financially independent is being able to support oneself, whichever kind of lifestyle one has.

Do you think you are financially savvy and smart? Why?

I think I am not financially savvy and smart enough. I’m still trying to work on it.
No one can be smart enough, to be honest.

What does the phrase “MyFatPocket” remind you of?

It reminds me of lucky mahjong days. Haha!

- See seen on My Fat Pocket’s website. <3 -

Tokyo Days 6, 7, 8.

June 19th, 2010 by sixpegs

Hey guys, I know I haven’t really talked much about the last few days of my Tokyo trip.
SO, HERE I AM! :D

For the last few days in Tokyo, I didn’t really do much more except shopping!
Well, to be honest, there wasn’t really a hell lot of shopping as well.
I bought crappy tiny things along the way but I think most of my money went to the food! *burps*

Buttons was busy with work even when he was overseas on vacation.
Sigh, but a man has gotta do what a man has to do.
So, I set off to explore the city on my own on Day 6!

I set off to Harajuku and Omotesando area to do some shopping.
And this time, since I was alone and I didn’t have to listen to Buttons’ whining (haha!),
I ventured out and totally walked randomly on my own!

It is always very exciting to walk around without a map alone. :p

It was good to just tour around the city and I bought quite a lot of stuff when I’m out shopping alone!
I bought gifts for my parents and also a new keypouch, wallet and bag for myself. Hee! :D
I then went back to Ikebukuro area to have dinner with Buttons.
Poor baby had to be in the room for the whole day to do up his work.
Such a hardworking boy! *hugs*

Dinner was good. It was at this place called 天狗 near the Ikebukuro station.
Well, it’s obviously not read 天狗 like how we say it in Mandarin.
I don’t know how to read it in Japanese but oh well the food there is great!
The ambience is bustling and everyone in there looks jolly and happy with their food.
The prices are very affordable too. The yakitori there is to-die-for! :D”"
Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures of the yakitori because I forgot about the camera the moment I saw the food.
Hahahaha! Here are some other shots I snapped in the restaurant. :)

Buttons and I visited Ueno the following day because he wanted to go to the Hard Rock Cafe there.
He is a collector of Hard Rock Cafe pins and it’s just a must for him to get one when we’re in Tokyo!
Ueno is a pretty interesting place because the stuff found here are rather different from the town area.
You can find stalls selling vegetables, seafood next to shops selling 2nd hand branded bags and shoes!! :p
Rather interesting, but not my kinda place though. Heh!
But here is Ueno for you guys to check it out.
Sidenote: The things here are a lot cheaper than those in town though.

The tee shirt beneath my denim shirt is proudly sponsored by Polka Dots Pigs!
It’s super comfortable and I love it. :D

Thanks for the love, dear Polka Dot Pigs!

By the way, still remember Issei Sagawa?
He now has a transport company in Japan!! Haha. Kidding!
But seeing his name now still gimme the creeps! *shivers*

This is the keychain/bag charm I bought from Hard Rock Cafe at Ueno.
The cafe is just inside in the Ueno JR station so it’s impossible for you to miss it!
The shop keeper told me that this one with Hello Kitty can only be found in Japan.
Cuteness! I love it!! <3

We then headed over to Ebisu and Daikanyama area to just tour the place.
These are quieter neighbourhoods as compared to the few places we’ve been for the last few days.
We found funky toy shops and nice gift shops around here!
The things found here are generally more expensive (esp Daikanyama), but the place is gorgeous.
Quiet and expensive neighbourhood, according to my Japanese friend.

I wanna laugh whenever I see this picture!!
Look at Buttons’ FLARED NOSTRILS SMILE! LOL!

The night ended when we met up with another Couchsurfer, Kumiko!
She was a real darling and she brought us to this really pretty chillout place near Daikanyama area.
She introduced us to her friend, Sandra too.
We were later joined by another Couchsurfer from Germany too! :)

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to speak to Kumiko much because there were too many of us.
And we were all chatterboxes so we were talking to each other a little too much. Haha!
But Kumiko was really nice and she offered to bring us out around town the following day!

As our resources were running low, Buttons and I only wanted to shop around Ikebukuro area.
There is a huge part of Ikebukuro that we hadn’t been to yet, so this was a great chance!
Kumiko wasn’t really good with the Ikebukuro area because she hardly goes here.
But she was nice enough to brave through Ikebukuro with us! :p

It was a Saturday and Kumiko was dressed more casually.
And I love her hat! Pretty pretty! :D
My dressing is really plain when compared to the Japanese! I’m ashamed of myself. Hahaha!
My “all dressed up” kinda look is actually their normal dressed down getups. Bleah!
Anyway, this is us in Ikebukuro on our second last day in Tokyo.

You must be wondering why is Kumiko and Buttons posing with that can of coffee?
Hahahahaha. I actually made them do this video (below) in the middle of nowhere in Ikebukuro.
Well, it’s because even back in Singapore, Buttons likes to do this “Japan Hour” impersonation.
You know how the Japanese like to go “EHHHHH!!! OISHI!!!” when they go on those food shows right?
Hahahahaha! Buttons loves doing that whenever he is with me.
So since we are in Japan, and we have a Japanese friend with us, we just HAD to let them do it together! :p

Not bad at all, I’d say!
Makes me think that the vending machine coffee is REALLY GOOD!! :p

Kumiko spotted a KTV while we were cruising about town and we decided to try it out!
Japan is afterall the country where Karaoke was born, so this is the best place to visit a KTV! Heh.
I was a little worried about the kind of songs in there because I can only memorize and sing 2 Japanese songs.
And since I cannot read Japanese, it’s going to be disastrous if they only have Japanese songs in there.

But on the contrary, the songs in there are amazing good and comes in various languages!
Even the Mandarin songs in there are very updated!
They have Hiragana above every word for the the Mandarin songs so that the Japanese can sing them too.

I even sang a Japanese song with Kumiko!!! Hahahaha.
“First Love” by Utada Hikaru is one of the 2 Japanese songs I memorized.
Fortunately I haven’t forgotten the words to the song and didn’t made a fool of myself in front of a Japanese.
Hehehe! :p

I also spotted a Sanrio shop so I went in there and bought a huge Kuromi cushion!
The Hello Kitty cushions in there have pink ribbons but I only like my Hello Kitty with red ribbons.
Yes, I’m anal like that.
But the Kuromi one is really cute! I love it!
Here is a retarded picture of me and my new cushion. Hehe! :p

I also bought this small charm of Kitty on a JR train.
JR trains are the ones Buttons and I took most often when we were in Tokyo.
So this one will serve as a real good memento for myself! :)

Well, this pretty much rounds up our entire Tokyo trip.
The 8 and a half days in Tokyo has been really fabulous!
Although we made changes to the places to visit and didn’t stick to our itinerary very much (dammit),
we still had lots of fun when we were there! :D
And above all, I think the meetups with the Couchsurfers really made things a lot more interesting.
If there are people out there who hasn’t heard of Couchsurfing yet, it’s time to find out more!
Click on this link to find out more about this amazing community. :)

Well, and I shall also end this post with another piece of good news.

After all the seeking and resume-sendings, I have found a position that I have been looking for.
(It’s nothing related to Civil Engineering just in case you’re wondering)
I will tell you more about it in my next post.

Buttons has been really sweet too!
The silly boy actually spent a huge sum of money to buy me these gorgeous figurines from Precious Thots.
We saw this first figurine when we were shopping at ION couple months ago.
I just casually said I liked it a lot because I have always been a fan of Beauty and the Beast since I was young.
The silly boy actually went back there to get it for me. <3
It’s really adorable and I love it!

And few days later after I told him that I have gotten the job, he told me he got another surprise for me.
He made me cover my eyes while he gingerly placed the “surprise” in front of me.
And when I heard the tune “Beauty and the Beast” being played, I couldn’t bear it anymore and opened my eyes!
And I saw this!!!

I was so touched I actually cried. I’m such an idiot.
He said he actually bought this with the other Beauty and the Beast figurine,
and he wanted to keep this for my birthday.
But he was really happy that I managed to get a job so soon and decided that this will be a congratulatory gift!
It was really beautiful!! <3
Belle and the Beast twirls around in the lit podium as the tune “Beauty and Beast” tinkles.
I love this so much, thanks Buttons!

And since we’re talking about Beauty and the Beast, I shall also tell you this story only my close friends know.
It’s nothing serious, but something funny that happened to me when I was a lot younger.
When I was in primary school, like Primary 1 or 2 or something, I was in the Bookworm Club.
Hahaha. Cute hor! :p

Anyway, my Mom and I were invited to this Bookworm Club gathering they had.
And when we were there, we were actually invited on stage to play this “How well you know each other” game.
We were asked questions like “What is your daughter’s favourite food?” kinda questions.
All those questions were really easy peasy for us since my Mom and I know each other pretty well.
THEN, came the question “What is your daughter’s favourite cartoon?”

OMG! That was like a giveaway question because I was obsessed with Beauty and the Beast when I was a kid.
But instead of writing Beauty and the Beast on my answer board, I wrote…

And so, we lost the game.
My mother later asked me “You like to watch He Man one meh!”
And I told her I wrote He Man because I didn’t know how to spell Beauty and the Beast.

HAHAHAHAHA! It’s really stupid.
Everytime when I see Beauty and the Beast now, it will still remind me of stupid He Man!

Oh well, that’s just some really stupid stories. Heh!
Buttons, thanks for the Beauty and the Beast figurines! I love them. <3
And thanks for driving me around for the job interviews as well.

I really appreciate your support. Thank you. :)

The mighty Olympus EP-1!

June 17th, 2010 by sixpegs

As most of you readers have known by now, I am absolutely in love with my new Olympus EP-1 camera!
This camera has everything a DSLR has, and the best part is,
the EP-1 is smaller and looks more chic as compared to any regular DSLRs!
Mine comes with a black camera case and also an adhesive red outer “skin” that allows me to customize how I want my camera to look like!
Gorgeous right? :)

The camera is made of a strong metallic finish and it feels oh-so-sturdy on my hands!
And if you don’t want it to be in a metallic grey color,
you don’t even need to worry about it at all because
the camera comes with accessories of various colours and textures!
Look at mine – it’s in a luxurious shade of red. Pretty aye?
There is a unique E-Portrait function in the camera and this function is totally amazing!
Why?
Because it is like a makeup function that instantly helps
eliminate pimples and little blemishes on your skin, giving you perfect looking skin!
Omg, damn good for me when I’m lazy to put on makeup!
Hahahaha!! :D
But other than that, my favourite would be the ART Functions!

The functions are (clockwise from top left)
pinhole, grainy film, pale&light, pop art, soft focus and light tone.

The grainy film looks nostalgic and really funky, while the pale&light and light tone functions gives pictures a faded and vintage kind of feel. Pop art, on the other hand,
makes the colours more saturated and fresh looking.
Soft focus, well, makes everything look dreamy and fairy tale-like. Haa!
But my favourite, will have to be the pinhole function! It’s Lomography hello!!! WEE!!! <3

I have never been really very good with Photoshop so this function will help me a lot.
For myself, my favourite would have to be the pinhole function!
And I have taken many many pictures in Japan using this function! Check them out!

The Olympus EP-1 really impresses me a lot because everything about it is perfect!
The camera is so small but packed with so much goodness!
Compared to many other mini DSLRs on the market, the camera is so much smaller!
The lens are retractable and it makes the camera tight and compact!
Okay, I am in love! :)
If you’re wondering whether the video mode on this camera works with the ART Functions, well check this out!

I have roped my cousin (Demi) in to do up this little video for me.
Hahahaha!
She looks really adorable and she is freaking talented, I’d have to say!
Well, this video is all about family and love.
I hope it’s not too lame but Demi is the joy in our family because of her drama-mama character (lol)! I hope you guys will love this video as well.
(And remember to love your family, dear friends!)

I am inviting all your readers to come meet me at Vivocity this coming Sunday
for a fun mini guided tour on how the Olympus EP-1 works, as well as a photography session!
I am sure you will have fun taking pictures with the Oylmpus EP-1 so do drop by and say hi to me okay? :)

Other than that, for all you readers who attended this event,
simply blog about the event and send your name, contact number,
email address and blog URL to Olympus@nuffnang.com!

The details of the event is as follows –

Love = Football.

June 11th, 2010 by sixpegs

This is the season of love.

And to be more exact, this is the season of love for football!
Me for one, is a great fan for football! Why? Because it is the season of great fun & sweaty sexy boys! Hahaha!

Gear up and be on your feet, fellow football lovers – time to start warming up for the World Cup Season!

PUMA, being the official sponsor of defending World Cup holders Italy,
is having an exciting campaign to celebrate this season of football-loving.
This campaign is also very unique because it ventures into the virtual realm with Foursquare!
Foursquare is a web & mobile application that allows registered users to connect with friends and update their location
As part of this campaign, all you have to do is just to “check-in” every time you visit selected PUMA store in Singapore! It’s as simple as that.
(Well if you don’t know what Foursquare is, then it’s time to check it out because that’s the next big thang dudettes!)

For the entire month of June, users who post a tip on Foursquare when they check-in to the selected outlets will win an EXCLUSIVE World Cup premium!
The users will just have to show the cashier their Foursquare application to win a selected premium!
And don’t say I didn’t hint you, but the premiums are oh-so-attractive! *winks*
This is the best time to be kiasu. Ahem! :p

And if you’re a huge fan of football, here is another event you shouldn’t miss!
PUMA will be showcasing their brand new Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection with their special ambassadors this weekend in town. There will be a meet-and-greet session where we can all get to know the ambassadors better too!

Dates: 12th and 13th June 2010
Venue: Orchard ION

(There will also be a march pass down Orchard Road on the 5th June 2010)

And the most exciting thing is – THERE WILL BE A FOOTBLL COMPETITION!
So go gather your boyfriends, bf’s friends or brothers to go take part in this together!
This friendly match is open to people of all shapes and sizes. If you’re looking for some football fun, make sure you apply online or at any PUMA retail stores now!
Well, you must be wondering who these PUMA ambassadors are?

They are footballers from Home United Singapore, Tampines Rovers Football Club and Etoile Football Club (France)!

So be sure to be there to ogle at the cute footballers!
Well the Singapore team has got some pretty adorable boys, so if you are into men in jerseys, sporty men or some kickass action, show your love in this “Love = Football” campaign now!

And by the way, remember to check out these lovely shoelaces from Puma! I love them! :p

Tokyo Days 3, 4, 5.

June 10th, 2010 by sixpegs

Hello guys! Time really flies when one is having fun!
I am now approaching the 6th day of my 8.5 days Tokyo trip.
We haven’t really been following our itinerary properly (that’s v bad)!
But we have been all over the place and ended feeling really tired almost every single night.

On Buttons’ birthday on the 7th, we had an “All Music” Day.
I researched about the various places that are suitable for music geeks like him and we went to them one by one!
We chanced upon a couple other really interesting music places too.
This is us at Ochanomizu. Nothing much there except lots and lots of guitar stores! :p

And this is Buttons in music heaven. Hahaha!
And also a couple other pictures of us cruising around the neighborhood. :)
And if you’re loving the green top drape I’m wearing, you can go look it up at Challures!

We then headed over to Ginza for the huge Yamaha building that Buttons is obsessed with. Hahaha!
Ginza is totally amazing! So many huge labels over here and they all got their own individual buildings.
TOTAL MADNESS! Too many brands, too little money! Haa.
We were there from afternoon till night.

As it was Buttons’ birthday, we decided to eat something good!
So we went to this restaurant along the main Ginza stretch. But sadly, I think the food was just so-so.
Bleah! Disappointed.
But oh well, we had a private space for dinner and it was time well-spent! :)

I hope you enjoyed your quiet and simple birthday celebration, Baby! <3

On the next day, we got up at around 1pm. (!!!)
I know, we’re super jialat. ALWAYS SLEEPING! Hahahaha.
Even the housekeeping lady had to call us to ask us if we still want our room made up. :p
That’s just really bad. Heh!

But this day was a fun-filled one because we met up with the first couchsurfer from Tokyo!
I met her at the Couchsurfing website and Hanako was really great company!
I would recommend Couchsurfing to everyone all travellers because
it is the fastest and easiest way to get in touch with the locals!
And travelling around with the locals is always different and special because they know the city inside out! :D

We met up at the Hachiko exit where the statue of Hachikō still waits patiently at the same spot.
If you haven’t heard about the amazing story about Hachikō, it’s time to find out more about him here.
Faithful dogs. <3

And this is the amazing Hanako. She was really friendly and spoke really good English!
In fact, she can speak great Spanish as well. This girl has travelled half the world and has so many good stories to share.
It was a pity that this photo is so blur! (urgh) But fret not! We’ll be meeting again on Saturday. Can’t wait!

She brought us to this place where there is free wireless (YAY!) and great great udon! I love udon! :D

She brought me around Harajuku and Shibuya area as Buttons went back to his music stores. Haha!
Hanako knows exactly where everything was and it was such a joy hanging out with her. :)
We then had dinner at Kabuki-cho – the area where all the “interesting” actions took place.
There are vendors selling pornography and hentai comics all over the place.
You can have a teppanyaki place right next to a pornography video rental store. Hahaha!
But it was fascinating indeed. Hanako did her part in telling us more about the businesses going on at Kabuki-cho too! :p

And a picture of Buttons with Hanako. What a nice picture!
I am a better photography obviously (hahaha how shameless!) :p

We were later joined by Kazu and another designer friend of theirs for some drinks!
They brought us to the local gay district which is just a 10 minutes away from Kabuki-cho area.
The pictures were a mess because the flash wasn’t on. But aiya, you get the picture! :p
It was a great deal of fun!!

On our 5th day, we headed out to Shibuya again because we loved the place too much.
We checked out Omotesando area near Harajuku as well.
That place is amazing too. Everything looked lovely there and the people there were all attractive and nice.
You can find the Agnes B Voyage, Burberry Blue and Black label around here as well! :)

But before all the action, check out Buttons’ geeky setup in our hotel room!
Who the hell would bring so many equipments on a vacation right!!!
Yes, this is m boyfriend for you. Workaholic. *snores*

And this is us on our 5th day in Tokyo. <3
I am loving my red scarf!

Trying to look mysterious – fail.

Lunch was at Yoshinoya – good for paupers like us.
But to be really honest, the food here isn’t too bad.
A LOT better than the Yoshinoyas found in Singapore if you ask me!
Value for money definitely. Aiya, beggars aren’t choosers. Lol!
Poor Buttons looks tired here. Either that, or he is still sleepy. Heh.

We took the train to Harajuku and started our shopping.
And this is us at our first coffee break at Harajuku.
Fat (me) and unfit (Buttons) people need lots of breaks! Hahaha!

We cruised around for a while before we had a second coffee break.
Hahahaha. I’m freaking weak. Can’t walk for long! :x

And to end of this post, here are a couple pictures I snapped on my camera.
Oh! A couple of you guys asked me about my camera. It’s an Olympus EP-1! :D
It’s really gorgeous and all these pictures are taken on the pinhole function. Pretty aye?
As for the iPhone screen protector, I went back to the shop and grabbed a couple.
I also took a few that are black with colourful polka dots! That one is totally adorable also!!
I will show you guys more when I am back in Singapore okay?
I only have around 6 of the red polka dots ones that I am using now. Yup, will update on this soon.
Meanwhile, enjoy the beautiful Tokyo city right here! Sayonara! <3

Tokyo Day 2.

June 8th, 2010 by sixpegs

The third day of our Tokyo trip is officially over!
I’m slacking around now while Buttons take a short nap.
He got tons of work to do and he’s trying to catch some sleep now before working again! So poor thing.
We visited Harajuku and Shibuya on Sunday and it was such a blast.
But strangely, I don’t know why I didn’t spend much money when I was there!
I think I was “holding back” a bit. Hahaha! Spent most of my money on food instead.
TSK TSK TSK! I’m so chubby already leh. DIE!

Anyway, here is my getup for the day!
White top from M)phosis, bow tie from Bangkok and Mom’s skirt.
The adorable brown bag is from Polka Dot Pigs. Thanks for the love! :)

We checked out the crepes at Harajuku too! Everyone has been telling me so much about them.
AND YES! They are yummy indeed!! :D”
Buttons loved it to bits. But we spent way too little time on Harajuku.
We should really go back there again a couple more times! (But my favourite would be Shibuya though)
That place is LOVE!

However Harajuku is cool on Sundays because of all the cosplay action going on there!
There are lots of street musicians and performers as well. Everyone there looks happy and fresh.
It is such a great place to be in. Even standing in a corner people-watching can be so so much fun!
We then walked from Harajuku to Shibuya.
The two places are just a 10-minutes walk away from each other by the way.

Buttons bought me that beautiful necklace for me when we were in Shibuya.
I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Thanks Buttons dear. <3

I also bought this super adorable iPhone screen protector thing when I was in Shibuya!
IT IS SO ADORABLE RIGHT!
I have never seen something similar in Singapore!
I should totally bring some back to sell. LOL!
Let me know if anyone wants it. Hahaha! But it’s not cheap though. *sobs*
But aiya, totally worth every cent if it’s unique right? Hahaha.
It’s money well spent for me! :D

Reporting from Tokyo.

June 6th, 2010 by sixpegs

That’s us looking tired and sticky after a the flight and a long day of cruising around town.
The area we’re living in (Ikebukuro) is a super happening place with lots of malls and great eateries after nightfall!
I’m really thrilled about visiting Harajuku tomorrow.
It’s Sunday, and that’s the day where all the cosplayers come out to play.
And above all, I am most exciting about the shopping! :D
Do look out for the Sunday Advertorials up tomorrow at 9.30pm!
And I will be back with more updates on my Tokyo adventure with Buttons.
Tata for now! <3

Sobs. I miss Maliboo already.

June 4th, 2010 by sixpegs

I am leaving Singapore in another 12 hours’ time!
But damn, I haven’t finished packing my luggage and I still have so many things to do.
I just finished doing up an advert scheduled for this coming week, I’m feeling so accomplished! Heh!
That means less work when I’m abroad. *grins*
Will try to do up the Sunday Advertorials for this coming Sunday as well, so stay tuned. :)

But well, all these are still not as important as Maliboo.
I don’t know why but I am missing Maliboo already!
And it’s as if she knows that I’ll be leaving too. She kept whining and refused to leave me even when I’m home!
I always miss her so much when I’m overseas. I love the touch of her fur and her stinky face. Hehe.
I love her lah! :p

I had coffee with Raylene yesterday as well. :)
It was really nice meeting her and as strange as it sounds, this is actually the first time we went out by ourselves!
Our families are all super closely-knitted but I wonder why we haven’t really been hanging out.
Maybe it’s because of our 7-years age gap.
Aiya but now that she is already 18 (and I wanna act 18), we should hang out more often. LOL!
No pictures of her and I wonder why. I’m so forgetful.

And of course, the packing!
My mother lent me this huge suitcase for the trip. It’s really super big lor!
But when I took pictures and showed it to my friends,
they suggested that I should bring this luggage there EMPTY! Wtf.
Is the shopping there really that hardcore?! But even if there are really so many things to buy,
I WON’T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY ALSO RIGHT! Hahahahaha!
Oh well, I’m super looking forward to the shopping there already.
I hope the amount of money I’m bringing will be sufficient. Heh.

Freaking love my chio-to-the-max passport cover! I feel super happy every time I use my passport!
Am feeling a little upset though, because travelling always reminds me of Tommy the tomato.
I tried looking for a replacement tomato but I cannot find it anymore.
Tommy is a stressball from Singapore Blood Bank, if you’re wondering who the hell Tommy is. Haha!
I even tried to ask the Blood Bank if they still have the tomato stressball but to no avail. *sad*

And I realized that I actually have the Laneige Travel (trial actually haha) Pack! :D Lucky me!

Oh and before I forget, there is this super yummy brownie I tried recently!
And the best thing is, you can actually order it online so it’s super good for super lazy people (like me).
The baker and owner of the online store is really friendly and nice too.
Thanks so much, Charmaine from Baked and Eaten. Yummy yummy brownies!
Especially yummy when it’s slightly warm (& with ice cream!) SLURPS.

And to end off this super random post, I wanna say I love Maliboo! Hahaha.
“Dear Booly, quit being emo nemo. Mommy will be back in 9 days with new doggy clothes for you baby!”

3 more days to “Hajimemashite”!

June 2nd, 2010 by sixpegs

I just collected my new camera for an upcoming advertisement today.
And I’m so thrilled about it that I cannot stop myself from raving about it!
There are some really cool ART” functions in the camera and the pictures from it are super cool.
But as of now, I’m afraid I can’t reveal what camera it is
because I wanna be irritating and keep you (the not-so-observant ones) guessing!!
HAHAHAHAHA!

I’m gonna bring it to Japan and capture my Tokyo moments on it!
Will do up awesome videos too if you guys want, so lemme know if you guys like videos! :p
Meanwhile, I wanna showcase the 6 different types of Art functions available in this almost-DSLR camera.

The functions are (clockwise from top left) – pinhole, grainy film, pale & light, pop art, soft focus, light tone.
The colours of these pictures are all totally unedited! Pretty aye? :D
(By the way, I think I look like a boy in these pictures! Any takers? Heh!!!)
I can’t wait to bring it to Tokyo.
And my favourite out of this 6 functions would be the Grainy Film one!
It makes everything look so artsy. Hahaha! :p

Hurhurhur! :D So bloody vain!

Tokyo Trip happening in just THREE DAYS!
Will blog when I am there in Tokyo, watch out. Tata for now! :D

P.S. Meanwhile, please don’t stop voting for me here!
I know I won’t be able to win at this rate, but at least don’t let me lose by too much! :p

DON’T BE LAZY! IT’S JUST ONE BLOODY CLICK!

Singapore Blog Awards 2010.

June 1st, 2010 by sixpegs

This is how I have described myself and my blog! Hahaha.
I could have gone on and on but they got limitations on the number of words.

I don’t know why they wanna pick that picture of mine anyway!

And these are the other 9 finalists for the award!
And out of this other 9 finalists, I have either read/heard about them or know them personally.
4 of them are personal friends of mine actually!
So well, no cut-throat competitions please. Heh!
Face it, we know we are all awesome and tech-savvy people. :p

But a competition is still a competition. I’m sure they’re going to give me a run for my money!
I am the last to do up this rally for the competition because I was too excited about my graduation. (WOOHOO!)
So here’s mine anyway:

You can do your voting here at the OMY Singapore Blog Awards Website.
But if you are not a member at this website, I’m afraid you’ll have to register first.
Not to worry though, because you’ll only have to go through the signup process only once,
thereafter you can just click to vote for me (1 vote a day please!) at the website!

The votes will make up 30% (!!) of the final scores.
As you can see from the rankings shown in the picture above, I’m lagging behind in votes like crazy.
So please do your part to help me on this one okay? :D

Special thanks to the reader who nominated me for the award. Very kind of you indeed. Haha!
And to the rest of you readers, time to help me gain some votes! :D
