I’ve got joy overflowing.

May 27th, 2010 by sixpegs

These few days has been really boring and dull.
My routine everyday is just wake up (at around 5pm everyday), use the computer, play with Boo, sleep at 8am.
HORRIBLE RIGHT!
Except for the two days when I went for interviews in the morning and afternoon respectively.
But I came home to sleep after the interviews anyway! Hahaha! SO BLOODY LAZY!

I met up with Jason for a dinner just now.
He came back from Maldives a while ago and he will only be here in Singapore for another year plus
before he leaves again for China!
And I really got no idea (even he himself doesn’t know) how long he will be there for!
We should make good use of this one year and meet up more often, Jason. :)

I wore my new shorts that Buttons bought for me from Zara, and a new vest courtesy of Hanasecret!
Thank you for the love, people. I’m totally loving the vest.
It can look both casual or formal. It’ll be great for work in future too. :D

Pardon my mirror filled with powder marks! Hahaha.
I am loving my eyebrows too. Heh! I always thought they were a little too thin for my liking.
But I will go tweezer-happy whenever I trim my brows on my own.
I am glad I manage to curb that obsession and let my brows grow back a little.
Thin brows can make one look a lot more mature, and more ‘lian’. Heh! :p

Jason and I talked about many things over our dinner.
And it is really nice to talk to old friends because it always bring back fond memories from the good ol’ days.
Throughout my many many years of education, I enjoyed my time in secondary school the best.
It was just totally awesome! Everything seems easy and simple. People were easier to talk to too.

He then made a crazy suggestion of going for a good karaoke session.
And before we know it, we’re already sitting in K-Box @ Orchard Cineleisure! Haa!

Here’s a picture of me behaving in a (usual) super tak-glam manner.

First time hearing Jason sing though I’ve already known him for more than 10 years.
I have received comments on my blog from some (blind) readers saying Jason is good looking.
(Hahaha. I kid! I kid!)
I’m sure you wanna hear him sing right! HAHAHA! I hope Jason doesn’t kill me.
He really sang quite well lor! :p
Here it is -

I haven’t seen my Buttons for two days already.
And it felt as if I haven’t seen him for TWO YEARS!
BUT I’m meeting him tomorrow. YAY!!! I hope tomorrow comes soon.
Oh! And I have finally finished my Japan itinerary as well! :D
I have been doing it up religiously for the past few nights.
Reading up about the various places in Tokyo,
which subway station they are near, etc so that I can plan the route to take and stuff like that.
I know I belong to the minority because I have never been to Japan before!!
So all you experts out there, feel free to take a look at my itinerary.
Do gimme some pointers if required okay? :)
Thanks so much to few of my Twitter followers who suggested good restaurants in Tokyo for me!
It’s Buttons’ birthday on the 7th June and we’ll be celebrating it in Tokyo!
I’m thrilled and really excited about it.
If you have any good (& inexpensive) place to recommend, feel free to drop a comment for me okay? :)

And now, for the itinerary -

On top of these, I also found information on the various areas I’m visiting, found all their area maps too.
And I attached a subway line map in the itinerary too. :)
Oh yes, I’m still thinking whether I should go Disneyland, or Disneysea or Sanrio Land.
If I’m going, it will replace one of the shopping days. Should I huh?
Q: I can get Hello Kitty stuff all over Japan one right?
I’m not really super keen on checking out Kitty’s house also lah. I’m more interested in the merchandise.
*ponders*

Anyway, lemme know if you have anything to suggest! :)
Many thanks! Tata!! <3

    hey pegs!
i’ve been to all 3 places before (disneyland, disneysea and sanrio land). in my opinion, you should head to disneyland and sea! probably set 2 days for that because both land and sea have 2 different entrances, can consider to purchase the “combine entry” free if you are keen :)

i’d recommend both places as both land and sea have different disney characters. land: mickeymouse, winnie the pooh, snow white and 7 dwarfs etc. while sea is like little mermaid, basically sea-like cartoon characters. both are as fun but disneysea caters more to “adult” rides if i recalled correctly.

as for sanrio land, you’ll love it if you are a hello kitty fan. otherwise, not a must-go i would say. probably spend half the day there would be enough. BUT, the stuffs at sanrio land is realllyyy expensive :) you’ll see other sanrio characters too (like the frog and chick cartoon, forgot what’s their name sorry, can google it if you want! hehe). there are a few rides in there too, but mostly for kids, not for adults (think crazy roller coasters kind) as sanrio land is mostly indoor :)

alternatively, you can head to Universal Studio too. don’t think it’s the same as Singapore’s sentosa one though! HAHA. the rides there are funnnnn ttm. love it :)

i would suggest another place to go at japan though. Mount Fuji! that place is really love, it has snow at that mountain all year round if i’m not wrong. you’ll not regret it as i wasn’t a “scenery” person but it proved me wrong when photographs and experience proved otherwise :)

overall, my stay at japan (about 4 years back) was a great one. stayed there for 10 days (7 days was tour, the remaining 3 days were extended days).
have a fab time there babe!

p/s i know i haven’t replied regarding your advert email which was sent to me a couple of weeks back. hehe i’ll get back to you asap yep! :)

Hey peggy! your itinerary looks great for a 1st timer! btw i have this tokyo transfer guide which i use for tokyo, u jz have to input the departing station n the destinated station. it will calculate the cost, the journey time n station which you have to alight for transfer. it’s pretty useful so you don’t need to study the complicated map at the subway n see the cost for the journey. i just punch in the no. of tic and slot in the amount of $ will do!

the map of the JR line may look complicated but it’s not that difficult at the end of the day. you may study the route suggested by the link and together with the JR map, u’ll understand why the journey is planned that way. pretty interesting. sorry i hope i din confuse u! =)
    have fun, babe!

Hi Peggy, when in Ikebukuro, be sure to try this ramen joint located in a side street beside Sunshine Cinema. It is fuss free and you purchase the tickets from a vending machine. I call it the Prison Break Ramen because the outlet has a publicity poster of Michael Schofield eating its ramen. :) You MUST go to Mitsukoshi. It’s like Watsons but a few times bigger; stock up on Japanese cosmetics and toiletries. Have fun!

Personally vote for Tokyo Disney Sea if you haven’t been there before. A perfect place for dating, compared to Disneyland or Sanrio Land. Just my two cents’ worth. Have fun! ;)

You can visit Meiji Shrine @ Harajuku if u want. I prefer Meiji Shrine to Asakusa. You can buy alot of tidbits along the way when u visit Asakusa.
I just came back from Tokyo in Apr n stayed @ Hotel Sakura Ikebukuro. No tissue n hair dryer provided. Bring more tissue if u r a heavy user like me =p.

    hey peggy,

guess what? i just got back from my my 10-day japan trip, so i guess i can share with u a lil.

i went to disneyland (my first time there). if u’re the fairytale lover then im pretty sure u’ll have a great time there. but if u’re up for more adventure (e.g. exciting rides), disneyland may just put u to sleep.

if u have the JR pass, i would suggest that u take the shinkansen to Kyoto, it’s abt 3 hrs on the bullet train alone. the place is BEAUTIFUL, and if u’re lucky u might chance upon a real geisha. i saw a miko myself! awesome stuff.

i didnt exactly shop much at harajuku but there are some designer labels beyond takeshita dori (nt sure if this is the exact name but it’s the shopping street at harajuku). u can check them out if u’re interested. and pls try to crepe at harajuku. they are better than anywhere else. imagine an entire slice of cheesecake in ur crepe!!! and if u are interested in checking out all the cosplay pple, u shld go to harajuku on a sunday cos thats when they gather! i didnt see them cos it rained on the sunday i went :(

i tot shibuya is a lil far to walk on foot from harajuku. haha. maybe u shld take the train instead. ;P

    anyhows, enjoy ur trip! (:

    hey peggy!

you may wanna consider taking airport limousine & alight at hotel metropolitan tokyo, 15mins walk to hotel sakura ikebukuro. cost about 6000yen for both ways + 2 days of free unlimited ride on metro sub. personally prefer metro than to JR.

disneysea is real fun. and my fav spot in tyo will be harajuku linked omotesando.

and oh, theres this ramen joint near sakura ikebukuro (about 15 mins walk, check with hotel staff on the direction) called ichiran. ITS AWESOME & CHEAP. Check out 100yen shop too, mad lotsa things to buy!

    have fun!
