Button up! We're flying off again.

August 28th, 2009 by sixpegs

Still remember how I booked a ticket to fly alone to UK some time back?
Well, I’ve done it again.
But this time, it’s just to 2-hours-away Bangkok!
& I won’t be flying alone this time because Buttons is coming along!
I’m thrilled!

?

We’re leaving in another 13 days’ time!

travel

I love how we can just decide to leave the country on such short notice.
& I totally love the kind of thrill to just pack up and leave in just a couple days.
Actually, this 13 days is considered quite long already.
But, I’m still very excited because I’ll never grow tired of Bangkok!
It’s going to be my 4th time there within 3 years & I’m still loving it very much.

Although Buttons & I were just dating for a couple months,
we’ve already left footprints in Vietnam and England.
& if Malaysia even counts, Thailand is going to be the 4th country we’ve visited together!

Being in a foreign country where you have no one else but each other, aww!

I appreciate and cherish the fact that I have found another person who loves travelling as much as I do.
Someone who thinks it’s not too crazy to just book tickets and fly away.
And like what our passports represent, we’re going to see the world together.
One stop at a time.

I love you, Buttons!

The nights remind me of you.
Its touches so gentle it felt like it could be love.

Hi Pegs! I read your post on the brazilian waxing and I have a few questions to ask you. Hope you don’t mind answering? =)
I know that the best person who can give me the answers would be the sales receptionist of the brazilian waxing shop but I hope for a more objective, non-biase opinion from you Babe!! =D

The questions may be abit sensitive since it’s a sensitive topic.. maybe you can reply to my email (as posted in the ‘email’ required section to write this post) if you feel more comfortable. And btw I’m not some pervert or weirdo- I’m purely interested to find out more about brazilian waxing as I’m considering to do it, or not to. =) Thank you!

    1) Is it very awkward to go for such waxing… cause I’m shy to show my privates =x =x (my main concern!!)

    2) how long does it last?5 minutes?

    3) Is the risk of getting urinary tract infection high with such waxing? I have a friend who kena cause of it!! Dono where she did it though but definitely not those cheapo places cause she not that type..hehe.

    4) How fast do you start to see the hair growing out again? Like for armpit hair, I pluck and then after 3 days I can see the black short ‘less-than-1-mm’ hair popping out the skin again already..

    5) If it grows out so fast, then you gotta keep doing like every 2 weeks? or 1 month?? Cos it’s gonna feel quite rough with little hairs of like 5mm in length right?

=D Hope to hear from you soon!! I appreciate your patience in replying my doubts!

    au revior …

  9. siaowen Says:

peggy, i feel so happy for you!
    i feel u’re so loved. :)

  10. sixpegs Says:

    hello there elaine,

at first i’d feel that it’s a little awkward.
just tell yourself that the one waxing you is a trained professional and she has probably seen hundreds of fannies. haha. then you’ll feel better.
the process is very fast, but not as fast as 5 mins. probably 15mins? but it’s not pain pain pain non stop lah. they do your ass also mah.

i’m not sure about the risks of infection. but at pink parlour, they did use alcohol wipes to clean. and you’re to ask for a bath to wash up before the waxing begins. so i think it’s very safe and hygienic. plus those wax sticks are all wooden disposable ones. so yup, shld be okay.

i think it can last for around.. 10days?

i think do every month or every 2 months should be okay.

  11. sixpegs Says:

    hey thanks! :)

  12. sixpegs Says:

    eh thanks siaowen.

  13. elaine Says:

    thanks peggy! =) =)

btw is there a particular diet or exercise regime u stick to to get such a wonderful figure??
    hope u dun mind sharing..hehe.

and also, do u count calories??

  14. sixpegs Says:

    hello elaine, you’re most welcome.
and i don’t have good figure lah!
i’m chubby like hell lor. honest.
and if i really do count calories, confirm lose count at every meal. :p

chatuchak market – weekends only. big and humid and hot inside. but good.
suan lom market – night market. my fave. but buy things there need to bargain. got some budding local designers with good clothes. food is good.
khao san market – night only. backpackers district. need to bargain like hell also. tattoos hairbraiding & lots of pubs.
yao wa rat – chinatown. sharksfin and birds nest.
erawan shrine – the 4 faced buddha.

maboonkrong (MBK) – another mall also. the steamboat here is good.
29 plaza – got link way from mbk. super cheap manicure. but bring your own base coat because they don’t have and their polishes will stain your nails.

Yay! I did that too, drop everything and left for BKK for 3 month (time passes so quickly when you’re having a good time!) There are so many things to see, so much good food, rich culture, and really nice people. Will never get sian of it. :)

I’m heading there again 12th Sept! I’ll prob bump into you and Buttons! Can meet for coffee (or Singha) if you’re interested. :)

Its pretty near Kao San and Wat Phra Kiao & Wat Arun (beautiful temples).

Also, on weekend nights (only), just across Siam Paragon are rows of rows of stalls alongside the road. Can get pretty good buys there. :)

    Enjoy!

i wanna visit some of the temples this time round but maybe not all because time is rather tight on our side.
any good recommendations as to which temples are the ones we should not miss and which are the more mediocre ones?

anyway thanks a lot for your tips! great help.

and you went thailand for 3 months and travelled alone?!
    respect!

Hello Peggy! Love the passport covers, do you mind sharing where you got them from?

  33. irene Says:

Ok :) Thanks anyway Peggy! Hope you enjoy your trip :) Maybe I can see u there by luck! Haha!

  34. sixpegs Says:

    Hello faith!
We bought it at Soho area in London. :)

  35. Emily Says:

    Hello Peggy,

Well, Wat Phra Kiao is beautiful, the architecture, the walls and walls of paintings which tells a story. It’s also where the King did his monk hood, so it’s sort of like a Royal Temple. They spend alot money restoring it as well, very popular with tourists. I think entrance fee about 300B ($12). Across Wat phra kiao (Take a ferry) you can get to Wat Arun, also quite interesting (i have pics in my blog, u can search for them). The ferry also takes you to the Forensics Museum (somewhere in Siriraj Hospital). Ask people where to see “Si Ouey” and they will know where to direct you. He was a famous serial killer supposedly kill children and eat up their intestines! Thais use his name to scare their kids into behaving well. haha. There’s also temple of the Emerald Buddha but i never got the chance to visit.

Just outside Wat Phra Kiao is a place called Sanum Luang. Its just a big space where royal processions are held (King’s sister’s funeral, every the Reds rallying there etc) At night, they have stalls selling old, vintage things (like Thieves market). Not sure if it’s your kind of thing tho (lotsa mosquitoes, beware! hah)

There’s this place called Muang Boran, located in the neighbour hood of BKK (about 1 hour to get there) It’s shaped like the map of Thailand, and they have miniature places of interest. So if you have time constraint, just visit Muang Boran and you can visit all the places of interest and temples in one day. haha And you can ride a buggy too (too big to go on foot). I drove into a tree, damn stupid haha!

Yah, I left Singapore for Thailand alone, but I already made some Thai friends before, so i wasn’t exactly alone alone. Thailand is SO BIG, I haven’t finish exploring either. Heh. Which date exactly are you leaving and by what airline?
