10 Favourite Movies.

August 23rd, 2009 by sixpegs

Being a movie buff & being surrounded by movie buffs,
I think this entry is totally necessary!
In fact, Buttons & me got into quite a debate
when we’re coming up with this following list.
It got us totally excited and orgasmic as well.
It’s true – good movies can really bring you to a new high.

I know there will probably be a lot of debate and ideas coming up from you,
especially if you’re a movie buff yourself!
So if you’ve got other movies not mentioned here and
you think everyone should watch them before they die,
please do us a favour and share!

That’s why, here is a list of my

TOP TEN FAVOURITE MOVIES!

ONE

closer

In no particular order, I’d first like to introduce CLOSER.
Starring Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman,
this show has probably already won half the battle with its impressive cast.
This movie is believable, accurate and
probably a little too harsh showcasing how fucked up
adults, relationship and sex can turn out to be.

I love the intensity of the show and particularly the dialogues.

TWO

silenceofthelamb

SILENCE OF THE LAMB needs no introduction.
Total pure classic.
All it takes is one cold stare from the intelligent and psychotic
Dr. Hannibal Lecter to send chills down your spine.
I always liked thrillers and particularly this one,
because it’s really god damn sick.

THREE

ghost

Oh! I love GHOST by Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze.
I’ve watched it around three times & I adore everything
from Unchained Melody to Demi Moore‘s short crop in that show.
It left me at the edge of my chair
feeling angry & heartbroken all at the same time.

I’m sure everyone would know that classic scene at the pottery wheel.
This one is a must watch!

FOUR

amelie

AMELIE is my favourite girl.
Enchanted, whimsical & unimaginably amusing.
She seeks solitude and loves it.
I love the cinematography of this movie and
how little details are always brought to the viewers’ attention.
It taught me how to appreciate small things in life.
How I wish I can see the world through Amelie’s eyes!

I can still remember the scene when Amelie asked herself -
“How many people are having an orgasm in Paris right now?”
And she can randomly decide on “Fifteen”.

My favourite quote from the movie?
“You’ll never be a vegetable – even artichokes have hearts.”

FIVE

butterflyeffect

Yet another nervewrecking, mind effing movie.
Buttons & I totally agreed that this movie has got to be in the top ten!
Firstly, there’s Ashton Kutcher in it.
Secondly, I totally love “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis.
And even if those two reasons are invalid,
the plot of this show has got to be rated as TOTALLY AWESOME.
BUTTERFLY EFFECT – what a perfect name for this movie.

SIX

independenceday

I remember watching this movie when I was still a kid.
The scene with the dog escaping the fire in the tunnel is truly memorable.
I haven’t watched this one in a long time though.
But from what I could gather (based on my memories of the show),
this movie is totally fantastic!
Will Smith rocked.
And if I remember correctly,
the actor who was the US President was quite cute too.

SEVEN

horsdeprix

HORS DE PRIX, also known as Priceless.
I caught this show in the theatre twice when it was being screened.
Again by one of my favourite actress, Audrey Tautou.
I just cannot take my eyes off Irene (played by Audrey) in this movie.
It’s the love story between a gold digger and a poor waiter.
But some twists came along & made this one a really adorable film!

EIGHT

sunrise sunset

BEFORE SUNRISE is about two strangers spending a night in Vienna.
The affinity between them is almost magical but yet very convincing.
The movie doesn’t boast of a lot of action or whatsoever,
just packed with intriguing and interesting conversations.

The sequel, BEFORE SUNSET is shot 9 years after the first movie.
1995 & 2004.
In the movie, it was exactly 9 years apart as well.
So you can really see Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy aging a little.
I love the song “Let Me Sing You A Waltz” in this one.
Love it!

NINE

blooddiamond

Leonardo Dicaprio‘s acting was totally awesome in this.
Period.

TEN

bourneidentity

Who doesn’t love the whole espionage-gone-wrong,
‘the corporation is turned against you’ idea?
I think somehow Singaporeans loved this one for the
whole anti-establishment, sanitised and removed ‘agency’ in it.

Besides, Matt Damon was real beefed up for the film as well.
Yummy.

?

Sorry that I ain’t no Star Wars or Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter fan.
There are really too many shows that I adore!
Actually I’m one big sucker for chick flicks too.
Bring It On. Sex And The City. Devil Wears Prada. Mean Girls.

I TOTALLY LOVE THEM!

I didn’t include any Chinese shows as well – WAY TOO MANY to mention!

Here are other shows I think I should watch before I die too.
I better get down to watching them soon!

Memento
Talented Mr Ripley
Reservoir Dogs
Trainspotting
Godfather

Okay, time for Kill Bill!

F is for Fanny.

I GOT NO MORE PUBIC HAIR!

AHAHAHA.

I know that’s kinda crude to have a shoutout that way.
But it works like magic, don’t you think?

I went for a brazilian wax 2 days ago at Pink Parlour
Everyone and everything is loving it.
From myself (of course) to the boyfriend to my best friend in bath – the loofah.

Everyone loves a fuzz-free Fanny, isn’t it?

Anyway, the experience was a great one.
It is my first time at Pink Parlour & the environment is totally cozy.
As a start, I really love the motif they have for their shop – a cute kitty.

You can click on this logo to go to their website.

logo

The shop is decorated in pink and black.
And all the treatment rooms look awesome.
They even let you have a shower before the brazilian wax!

HOW AWESOME!

No more worries about embarrassing Fannies,
or trips to the toilet to “clean up” before the session! :p

HAHAHAHA!

2

I previously did my pedicure at the Marina Square Pink Parlour branch too.
The service was great
& I was entertained by the Sex And The City drama they had on as well.
(Actually that’s how I got hooked on the series)

Look at the manicure area – PRETTY!

4

They got a lot of other products too,
including the No No! Skin pimple thing which I previously endorsed.

1

The wax was kinda painless actually.
Well, I’m be lying if I say it’s painfree but the pain is really managable.
And most importantly, it’s all worth it!
Having a clean you-know-where is the way to go!
Both hygienically and *ahem* in the you-know-what area.

Well if you’re kinky enough, you can wax them in different shapes.

OR DYE THEM IN DIFFERENT COLORS!

So if you’re considering,
here’s another reason you should join the hair-free Fanny clan now.

There’s this coupon which you can print out to enjoy 1-for-1 waxing.
WOOTS!
You can use it for yourself too.
Just go there twice and you get to wax at half the price.
*cheapo grin*

141 coupon

There’s a BFF contest going on from now until 31st August as well!

bff thing

Alright after having a new fuzz-free best sister, I’ve been all over the place.

Always sticking around with Buttons,
did photoshoot with lustmonday & got free clothes!
(I LOVE MY LIFE!)
Wore my new clothes all over the place & other random pictures.

3

It’s going to be weekend soon & Buttons is going to be free again.
Time really flies!
It was just last Sunday when we went dirtbiking,
and even before my bruises start to heal,

IT’S WEEKEND AGAIN!

I hope Friday is going to be totally awesome for all you guys out there!

Jiggly arms. Jiggly arms. Jiggle all the way.

August 17th, 2009 by sixpegs

It was Addie’s fabulous 50th birthday on Friday.
So I went Taboo with Michelle to be part of all that awesomeness.
HAHAHA.
It was a great great deal of fun!
& we finally get to meet up with Jeremy, Benjamin & Duncan to party.
These guys are a huge deal of fun to hang out with!
Denys joined us later in the night as well.

?

YIPPEEDY FUN!

Sunday was a another day of great fun!
My cousin Desmond organized a dirtbiking trip at Pengerang, Malaysia.
It’s a place called Tristan Park.
It was my first time biking & I’m totally totally thrilled!

We met up early in the morning & took a ferry at Changi Ferry Terminal.
Buttons & I were late because we simply love sleeping too much! :p
We shall let the pictures do the talking.

It started with us gearing up with knee guards, elbow guards & gloves.
Following that, we were taught how to work the bikes.
There were a couple different kinds of bikes & they’re all operated differently.
I, as a brand new noob, took the easiest & smallest bike! :p
The protective gears were all really important!
If not for the full face helmet, I think my nose would be gone by now.

love3

Alright, after the short introduction,
we got onto the bikes & practised at the trail near the workshop place.
Went for out yummy & CHEAP lunch nearby,
AND HEADED OUT FOR THE REAL DIRT TRAIL!

THE REAL DEAL!

I fell down twice in total.
LOUSY ME.
The first time happened when I wanted to avoid a huge pithole in the ground.
And I rammed right into Button’s (who was in front of me) bike.
The second one was BAD!
I saw a HUGE rock in the way and wanted to avoid it.
But unfortunately it didn’t happen fast enough
& my bike went over the rock and lost control.
Fell flat on the bike & bruised my knees,
accompanied by scratches on my tummy, arms and shoulders.
(T_T)

I went home with a HORRIBLE pain in my forearms as well.
I think they overworked & thus decided on the strikeback!
It was so painful I cannot even sms or type properly.
Thank God they’re SO MUCH BETTER now!
(All thanks to Buttons who kept rubbing ointment on them for me)
:)

Here are a few vain pictures of Desmond & Buttons on our ferry back to Singapore.

i

It was such great great fun.
Buttons is already looking forward to the next trip there!
As for me, I think I better concentrate on my muscle aches
& hope they recover soon!
*limps away*

This next blogshop is set up by a personal friend of mine.
Cadenze, one of the girls from MSU that year!

Interesting name of the website, it’s called Neutral Palette.
Notice how the two words contradicts each other?
It shows that the shop sets out to feature clothes from a wide array,
from neutral earth tones to loud fascinating colors!

So no matter what you fancy, you’re in for a treat in here!

90% of the clothes are especially imported through collaboration with designers overseas.
While the rest came from local suppliers,
Cadenze always tries to give a personal finishing touch,
making the piece more unique and different.

So most of the items at Neutral Palette are exclusively designed.

What more can we ask for, ladies?
You’re sure to like this blogshop.
