Button up! We're flying off again.

August 28th, 2009 by sixpegs

Still remember how I booked a ticket to fly alone to UK some time back?
Well, I’ve done it again.
But this time, it’s just to 2-hours-away Bangkok!
& I won’t be flying alone this time because Buttons is coming along!
I’m thrilled!

?

We’re leaving in another 13 days’ time!

travel

I love how we can just decide to leave the country on such short notice.
& I totally love the kind of thrill to just pack up and leave in just a couple days.
Actually, this 13 days is considered quite long already.
But, I’m still very excited because I’ll never grow tired of Bangkok!
It’s going to be my 4th time there within 3 years & I’m still loving it very much.

Although Buttons & I were just dating for a couple months,
we’ve already left footprints in Vietnam and England.
& if Malaysia even counts, Thailand is going to be the 4th country we’ve visited together!

Being in a foreign country where you have no one else but each other, aww!

231

I appreciate and cherish the fact that I have found another person who loves travelling as much as I do.
Someone who thinks it’s not too crazy to just book tickets and fly away.
And like what our passports represent, we’re going to see the world together.
One stop at a time.

?

I love you, Buttons!

The nights remind me of you.
Its touches so gentle it felt like it could be love.

I chanced upon this picture a couple days ago & I was instantly mesmerised!
I love how they gave a modern twist to the supposedly vintage look.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE angled caged veils!

?

They look so classy and emanates a mysterious air of elegance.

wedding.1

A

I am sure every girl has thought of her dream wedding at various stages of her life.
I remember there was a “fortune telling” game I played when I was in primary school -
it is supposed to tell you how old you would get married,
what the color of your gown or wedding car would be, etc.

I vividly remember being pretty upset back then as my wedding car was green or something.

HAHAHA!

Now that I’m 24 years old – the age when all your friends get married one by one,
this good ol’ perfect-wedding fantasy struck me once again.
And since most of the readers at my blog are girls,
I shall share some of my little perfect-wedding fantasies here.

Hello everybody, I’m Demi Moore crazy fan no more!
Now I’m having my usual short crop & I’m totally loving it again.
Buttons say that it makes me look like a butch, and makes him look gay though.

(T_T)

Well, then I think we’ll have to try to deal with it for the next few months then!

I’m still loving my shampoo-saving days though.
Short hair rocks.

?

IMG_5398

It’s Herwin’s last night out in Singapore yesterday.
I didn’t manage to catch them for dinner because I was out with Buttons.
So here we are at Butter Factory last night to hang out with Herwin before he leaves again.
I like how they shouted “FUCK OFF!” when they toasted last night.
HAHAHA.

B

I also saw Angelina, who apparently loves reading my blog a lot.
She screamed and hugged me when I saw her.
(I think the alcohol kinda got to her too)
Anyway, big HELLO to you!
Feel free to take the our picture off the blog yea? :)

A

After those unimportant details, it’s time to get down to business.
Remember how I used to whore Buttons about on my blog couple months ago?
It actually worked because he got a couple readers emailing him after that.
He got a few more friend requests on facebook as well.
So it got me thinking that the people these days
are actually quite open to meeting new people through different means.

(I LOVE BUTTONS!)

?

And with that, I’d like to introduce my friend Alvin Leong!
He just came back into the blogosphere again,
and can definitely do with a good warm welcome!

Alvin Leong is goodlooking, has cute tiny eyes and tall.
He knows how to bake cheese cakes & is definitely an up-and-coming entrepreneur.

Smart, knows how to cook, well versed & a handsome model.
How attractive!
(cringes)

Here are some other pictures I have of Alvin and
pictures from the past few events where we worked together.

TICKS! tock. TICKS! tock.

August 25th, 2009 by sixpegs

I went out with Buttons for a nice ramen dinner @ our favourite place.
KEN’S RAMEN!
Buttons is really sweet though,
because he surprised me with my favourite white rose!
A simple one stalk is enough to sweep me off my feet!

I LOVE MY BUTTONS.

?

C

The weekend was rather quiet & peaceful for us.
We bummed around at home and caught movies non stop.
Even our meals were delivered.
I think we’re gradually evolving into stay-home-bummers.
Or better known as ?? & ??.
HAHAHA.

Random picture of Boo, me in my new vest
& Buttons with his super HUGE eraser!

D

Maliboo has been attacked by ticks again.
It’s really upsetting because she actually recovered from it already.
But no idea why they got to her again.
The worse thing is, I’m not exactly good at searching her body for ticks.
To think that I’ve always missed out the paws -
THAT’S WHERE THEY ALWAYS LIKE TO HIDE IN!!!!

Buttons came over to our rescue and helped de-tick Boo.

Look at our horrifying finds!

We found the Queen Tick, which is REALLY REALLY HUGE & DISGUSTING!
It’s really super gross.
At this very moment as I’m blogging about it,
I can actually feel tickles all over me.
G R O S S !

But the real psycho is Buttons.
Look at how happy he is disecting the goddamn tick!

B

Anyway, we really found a lot of ticks on Boo.
And to cut her agony short,
I’ve already sent her for professional deticking services.
She’s gonna lose all her fur again.

(T_T)

I hope she feels better after the treatment.
*heartaches*

Alright on a less-gross & happier note, I bought new stickers!
I’m a huge sucker for cute stationery and stuff.
But this set of stickers are damn fun because we get to “play” with it.

Look at how good Buttons is with his rubber face -
HAHAHA!

A

But I’m super good too!

10 Favourite Movies.

August 23rd, 2009 by sixpegs

Being a movie buff & being surrounded by movie buffs,
I think this entry is totally necessary!
In fact, Buttons & me got into quite a debate
when we’re coming up with this following list.
It got us totally excited and orgasmic as well.
It’s true – good movies can really bring you to a new high.

I know there will probably be a lot of debate and ideas coming up from you,
especially if you’re a movie buff yourself!
So if you’ve got other movies not mentioned here and
you think everyone should watch them before they die,
please do us a favour and share!

That’s why, here is a list of my

TOP TEN FAVOURITE MOVIES!

ONE

closer

In no particular order, I’d first like to introduce CLOSER.
Starring Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman,
this show has probably already won half the battle with its impressive cast.
This movie is believable, accurate and
probably a little too harsh showcasing how fucked up
adults, relationship and sex can turn out to be.

I love the intensity of the show and particularly the dialogues.

TWO

silenceofthelamb

SILENCE OF THE LAMB needs no introduction.
Total pure classic.
All it takes is one cold stare from the intelligent and psychotic
Dr. Hannibal Lecter to send chills down your spine.
I always liked thrillers and particularly this one,
because it’s really god damn sick.

THREE

ghost

Oh! I love GHOST by Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze.
I’ve watched it around three times & I adore everything
from Unchained Melody to Demi Moore‘s short crop in that show.
It left me at the edge of my chair
feeling angry & heartbroken all at the same time.

I’m sure everyone would know that classic scene at the pottery wheel.
This one is a must watch!

FOUR

amelie

AMELIE is my favourite girl.
Enchanted, whimsical & unimaginably amusing.
She seeks solitude and loves it.
I love the cinematography of this movie and
how little details are always brought to the viewers’ attention.
It taught me how to appreciate small things in life.
How I wish I can see the world through Amelie’s eyes!

I can still remember the scene when Amelie asked herself -
“How many people are having an orgasm in Paris right now?”
And she can randomly decide on “Fifteen”.

My favourite quote from the movie?
“You’ll never be a vegetable – even artichokes have hearts.”

FIVE

butterflyeffect

Yet another nervewrecking, mind effing movie.
Buttons & I totally agreed that this movie has got to be in the top ten!
Firstly, there’s Ashton Kutcher in it.
Secondly, I totally love “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis.
And even if those two reasons are invalid,
the plot of this show has got to be rated as TOTALLY AWESOME.
BUTTERFLY EFFECT – what a perfect name for this movie.

SIX

independenceday

I remember watching this movie when I was still a kid.
The scene with the dog escaping the fire in the tunnel is truly memorable.
I haven’t watched this one in a long time though.
But from what I could gather (based on my memories of the show),
this movie is totally fantastic!
Will Smith rocked.
And if I remember correctly,
the actor who was the US President was quite cute too.

SEVEN

horsdeprix

HORS DE PRIX, also known as Priceless.
I caught this show in the theatre twice when it was being screened.
Again by one of my favourite actress, Audrey Tautou.
I just cannot take my eyes off Irene (played by Audrey) in this movie.
It’s the love story between a gold digger and a poor waiter.
But some twists came along & made this one a really adorable film!

EIGHT

sunrise sunset

BEFORE SUNRISE is about two strangers spending a night in Vienna.
The affinity between them is almost magical but yet very convincing.
The movie doesn’t boast of a lot of action or whatsoever,
just packed with intriguing and interesting conversations.

The sequel, BEFORE SUNSET is shot 9 years after the first movie.
1995 & 2004.
In the movie, it was exactly 9 years apart as well.
So you can really see Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy aging a little.
I love the song “Let Me Sing You A Waltz” in this one.
Love it!

NINE

blooddiamond

Leonardo Dicaprio‘s acting was totally awesome in this.
Period.

TEN

bourneidentity

Who doesn’t love the whole espionage-gone-wrong,
‘the corporation is turned against you’ idea?
I think somehow Singaporeans loved this one for the
whole anti-establishment, sanitised and removed ‘agency’ in it.

Besides, Matt Damon was real beefed up for the film as well.
Yummy.

?

Sorry that I ain’t no Star Wars or Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter fan.
There are really too many shows that I adore!
Actually I’m one big sucker for chick flicks too.
Bring It On. Sex And The City. Devil Wears Prada. Mean Girls.

I TOTALLY LOVE THEM!

I didn’t include any Chinese shows as well – WAY TOO MANY to mention!

Here are other shows I think I should watch before I die too.
I better get down to watching them soon!

Memento
Talented Mr Ripley
Reservoir Dogs
Trainspotting
Godfather

Okay, time for Kill Bill!

F is for Fanny.

August 20th, 2009 by sixpegs

I GOT NO MORE PUBIC HAIR!

AHAHAHA.

I know that’s kinda crude to have a shoutout that way.
But it works like magic, don’t you think?

I went for a brazilian wax 2 days ago at Pink Parlour
Everyone and everything is loving it.
From myself (of course) to the boyfriend to my best friend in bath – the loofah.

Everyone loves a fuzz-free Fanny, isn’t it?

Anyway, the experience was a great one.
It is my first time at Pink Parlour & the environment is totally cozy.
As a start, I really love the motif they have for their shop – a cute kitty.

You can click on this logo to go to their website.

logo

The shop is decorated in pink and black.
And all the treatment rooms look awesome.
They even let you have a shower before the brazilian wax!

HOW AWESOME!

No more worries about embarrassing Fannies,
or trips to the toilet to “clean up” before the session! :p

HAHAHAHA!

2

I previously did my pedicure at the Marina Square Pink Parlour branch too.
The service was great
& I was entertained by the Sex And The City drama they had on as well.
(Actually that’s how I got hooked on the series)

Look at the manicure area – PRETTY!

4

They got a lot of other products too,
including the No No! Skin pimple thing which I previously endorsed.

1

The wax was kinda painless actually.
Well, I’m be lying if I say it’s painfree but the pain is really managable.
And most importantly, it’s all worth it!
Having a clean you-know-where is the way to go!
Both hygienically and *ahem* in the you-know-what area.

Well if you’re kinky enough, you can wax them in different shapes.

OR DYE THEM IN DIFFERENT COLORS!

So if you’re considering,
here’s another reason you should join the hair-free Fanny clan now.

There’s this coupon which you can print out to enjoy 1-for-1 waxing.
WOOTS!
You can use it for yourself too.
Just go there twice and you get to wax at half the price.
*cheapo grin*

141 coupon

There’s a BFF contest going on from now until 31st August as well!

bff thing

Alright after having a new fuzz-free best sister, I’ve been all over the place.

Always sticking around with Buttons,
did photoshoot with lustmonday & got free clothes!
(I LOVE MY LIFE!)
Wore my new clothes all over the place & other random pictures.

3

It’s going to be weekend soon & Buttons is going to be free again.
Time really flies!
It was just last Sunday when we went dirtbiking,
and even before my bruises start to heal,

IT’S WEEKEND AGAIN!

I hope Friday is going to be totally awesome for all you guys out there!

Jiggly arms. Jiggly arms. Jiggle all the way.

August 17th, 2009 by sixpegs

It was Addie’s fabulous 50th birthday on Friday.
So I went Taboo with Michelle to be part of all that awesomeness.
HAHAHA.
It was a great great deal of fun!
& we finally get to meet up with Jeremy, Benjamin & Duncan to party.
These guys are a huge deal of fun to hang out with!
Denys joined us later in the night as well.

YIPPEEDY FUN!

Sunday was a another day of great fun!
My cousin Desmond organized a dirtbiking trip at Pengerang, Malaysia.
It’s a place called Tristan Park.
It was my first time biking & I’m totally totally thrilled!

We met up early in the morning & took a ferry at Changi Ferry Terminal.
Buttons & I were late because we simply love sleeping too much! :p
We shall let the pictures do the talking.

c

d

IMG_5186-1

e

g

It started with us gearing up with knee guards, elbow guards & gloves.
Following that, we were taught how to work the bikes.
There were a couple different kinds of bikes & they’re all operated differently.
I, as a brand new noob, took the easiest & smallest bike! :p
The protective gears were all really important!
If not for the full face helmet, I think my nose would be gone by now.

love3

Alright, after the short introduction,
we got onto the bikes & practised at the trail near the workshop place.
Went for out yummy & CHEAP lunch nearby,
AND HEADED OUT FOR THE REAL DIRT TRAIL!

THE REAL DEAL!

IMG_5221-1

f

h

I fell down twice in total.
LOUSY ME.
The first time happened when I wanted to avoid a huge pithole in the ground.
And I rammed right into Button’s (who was in front of me) bike.
The second one was BAD!
I saw a HUGE rock in the way and wanted to avoid it.
But unfortunately it didn’t happen fast enough
& my bike went over the rock and lost control.
Fell flat on the bike & bruised my knees,
accompanied by scratches on my tummy, arms and shoulders.
(T_T)

I went home with a HORRIBLE pain in my forearms as well.
I think they overworked & thus decided on the strikeback!
It was so painful I cannot even sms or type properly.
Thank God they’re SO MUCH BETTER now!
(All thanks to Buttons who kept rubbing ointment on them for me)
:)

Here are a few vain pictures of Desmond & Buttons on our ferry back to Singapore.

i

It was such great great fun.
Buttons is already looking forward to the next trip there!
As for me, I think I better concentrate on my muscle aches
& hope they recover soon!

This next blogshop is set up by a personal friend of mine.
Cadenze, one of the girls from MSU that year!

Interesting name of the website, it’s called Neutral Palette.
Notice how the two words contradicts each other?
It shows that the shop sets out to feature clothes from a wide array,
from neutral earth tones to loud fascinating colors!

So no matter what you fancy, you’re in for a treat in here!

90% of the clothes are especially imported through collaboration with designers overseas.
While the rest came from local suppliers,
Cadenze always tries to give a personal finishing touch,
making the piece more unique and different.

So most of the items at Neutral Palette are exclusively designed.

What more can we ask for, ladies?
You’re sure to like this blogshop.

I’m sitting alone at Starbucks in Ion now.
Finished my tall Iced Green Tea Latte,
not really done with that potato salad but the waiter kept it away
& I’m too shy to stop him, no idea why.
I guess it’s always quite hard for me to say “no”.
And that’s not a good trait.

I’m feeling rather random & need someone to talk to.
And because chatting up strangers aren’t exactly a normal thing
one should attempt to do in Singapore (trust me),
I’ve decided to turn to my little virtual space at SIXPEGS instead.

I was dressed in horrible oversized & over worn tee from Button’s wardrobe earlier.
And being the vain me,
I refuse to be caught trotting around in the “new Paragon” in my awful clothes.
So I did some shopping at topshop & bought another white singlet.
And F.Y.I, I think I got around 20 singlets at home.
Now I know where my money always go to.
:(

I’m feeling fat & lazy & unhealthy today.
I feel like buying myself a new bra but am too lazy to remove my clothes.

The tiny screen on the iPod touch is giving me crossed eyes.
I think I better get back to people-watching.
Healthier for the eyes.

Bye.

& we love to gather.

I just received the pictures taken at Rossie’s farewell dinner from Lianie.
& time really flies!
Rossie and Roy has been gone for almost 2 weeks already.
I hope everything has been great for them in Idaho!
Hopefully, we’ll have the opportunity to visit them there or
meet up in Las Vegas or something! :p

Here are the pictures taken at the dinner couple weeks back.
I feel kinda sad whenever I imagine not being able
to see Rossie at all for the next two long years.
*sobs*

It was a great dinner.

& feel happy and very excited for Rossie & Roy’s new life there!
Here are the 3 couples present.
And thanks Caryn for the great photo!

Here are more pictures from the night of my birthday with my gfs.
They’re the best!

I ? you Sinsin & Lianie!

Thanks so much for the wonderful night once again.
:)
I’m so lucky to have you girls around in my life.

& a collage of photos from the family gathering on Saturday night.
My mom went almost totally havoc that night after drinking a lil.
But I totally love my mom when she’s a little tipsy.
HAHAHA.
Freaking adorable.

collage2

Sunday & Monday were spent lazing around in Bedok Chalet.
Bedok Chalet - that’s Button’s house, if you’re wondering.
We caught ticks on Maliboo!
DAMMIT.
I hate these motherfuckers – they are really hard to handle!
And it’s so hard to get rid of them!
Look at them!

D I S G U S T I N G !

IMG_5057

Buttons is a little psychotic also.
Look what he did to get back at the ticks!

IMG_5060

IMG_5063

Hello all, better not offend Buttons.
He might slice you up as well.
:p

On a friendlier note, here is Maliboo & I chilling at Button’s.
Boo can be SO annoying & naughty sometimes.
But still, she has brought joy to me.

& I love her!

collage3

I’m feeling kind of fat & chubby & unhealthy lately.
I think I need to do something about my unhealthy lifestyle,
bad eating & sleeping habits and diet as well.
Perhaps I should start by getting a new pair of shoes
so that I’d go out to gym or something.
Or at least bring Boo for a jog, hmmm.. or at least brisk walk?
*coughs*

Anyway, Buttons bought me a pair of red heels I totally LOVE!
Will blog about it soon.
WOOTS. I love shoes.

The last few days.

August 10th, 2009 by sixpegs

I think I’ve been neglecting my blog a little lately.
Updates are normally quite boring.
But the more I try to find things to blog about, the less interesting my life seem to appear.

The past week has been fabulous.
My family celebrated Granny’s 70th birthday together & it was really nice to have Buttons along too.
It is the first time he joined my family officially for a get-together.
My family seem to like him too, which is definitely a good thing.

On Saturday, we went out for KTV together as well.
& as a rare surprise, Buttons was free on Saturday too.
So he tagged along as well.
I think the kids in my family love him the most.
He seem to have a way with the kids.
But as for the older folks, I think our behavior might be a bit of a culture shock to him.
I was playing 5-10 & drinking with my mother.
And everyone seemed a little crazy.
Probably crazier than how I was when I’m with my girlfriends.

HAHAHA.
It was a great deal of fun though!
I really love family gatherings.

School is going to start soon.

I have told myself that I HAVE to work hard this semester.
Kick some asses and shut some mouths up.

I know how Januarys are always seen as a time for a brand new start.
Well, since it’s the start of a new year altogether.
But for me, August felt more like a time for new beginnings.
Blame it on the school systems which made August the start of a new school term.
I’m a little worried about this upcoming school term actually.
Honestly, I’d be lying if I said I have full confidence in myself this year.
It’s not going to be easy definitely – being all alone & stuff.
Not easy to deal with all those awkwardness when I see people I know in school,
or simply trying to overcome my larger-than-life ego and self consciousness too.

But I know I gotta do it this time round.
If not, put it bluntly,
I WILL REALLY BE FUCKED.

So, way to go, Peggy!

I had a simple and (almost) quiet birthday this year.
And it was my two girlfriends who hugged me
the moment the clock struck twelve midnight on the 6th!

I LOVE YOU GIRLS!

It was a pity that Aiyolove cannot turn up too because of her hurt ankle.
But you’re always there in spirit with us, dear!
& you too Rossie! :)

Here are the 3 girls at St James after our dinner at Vivocity.
Shamelessly went there to claim the free birthday champagne.
HAHAHA!

IMG_5016

My dear cousin, Desmond made a special appearance too!
Everything just becomes doubly fun with this chap around.

IMG_5017

YAY!

I’m finally 22.

IMG_5024

IMG_5025

IMG_5026

With the tormented-by-work Lianie who was really tired that night.
Thanks for lugging the cake all the way there for us dear!

IMG_5029

The actual day was spent in an even quieter manner.
I met up with good old friend, Joan Seah!

OH MAN! I LOVE THIS GIRL!

& although it’s the 1st time we decided to finally catch up over coffee
after knowing each other since 2004,
there wasn’t a single moment of awkwardness or uncomfortable silence.

Here is our very unglamourous picture taken in a food court.
Joan is teaching in a seconday school now.
I wonder how those kids will feel having such a pretty teacher!
I’d feel super excited, that’s for sure.

IMG_5030

& last but not least, there is of course Buttons for me.
He who rushed down after a hectic day at work just
to have dinner with me REALLY completed my night.
And although we were uncreative with our choice of restaurants
& ended up in Thai Express again,
(which we patronize every other week)
DINNER WAS STILL GODDAMN KICKASS.

Thanks to all my beloved girlfriends, cousins & boyfriend who made birthday really nice.

Who's that Boo?

August 4th, 2009 by sixpegs

Oh how time flies, flies, flies!
Boo has been with my family for slightly more than a year now.
But it still feels like yesterday when she first stepped in!

She was such an actress.
The first time she came into my house, she felt so uncomfortable.
& would hide in corners all the time.
It didn’t take her very long to get warmed up to us though,
and look how terrorizing she is now!

Still remember how Boo looks like as a puppy? :D

GOD I LOVE HER!

CHECK OUT THAT FUR!

She stinks so badly when she first came in.
But after a good bath and fur trim, she’s looking (and smelling) good again!

Look at how much she has grown over these past year or so!
The only thing that remains is -
SHE STILL LOOKS SO EMO!

(T_T)

But I’ll always love her!

She can be SO IRRITATING at times but she’s my baby!
And I’m not going to let anyone bully her!
ROAR!

I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle.
But if you can’t handle me at my worst,
then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.
