I chanced upon a few pictures from a couple weeks ago.
Went ECP with Sindy, Melvyn and Boo.
It was Boo’s first time at a beach!
And her worst nightmare – WAVES.
Every time the waves come near her, she’d bark like crazy.

To all those who are concerned about Boo and I,we’re doing well!
Maliboo is getting a little too barkish though.
And I wonder if there are anyone of you who has solutions for it.
She barks when people walk pass my door.
Barks when someone slams the door.
Barks at the slightest noise.
And it’s really annoying at times
(especially in the mornings when I’m still asleep!)
PLEASE – tell me how I can help make her less excited and barkish.
Other than that, I love her to bits.
She’s a little terror but I know she loves me.

I’ve got two new posters -one with Marilyn Monroe, the other with Audrey Hepburn.
And my room is really becoming like a Marilyn Monroe temple.
LOL.
I love the posters to bits though.So pretty! :)
Chinese New Year is just round the corner.
But honestly, I’m not feeling the mood at all.
In fact, I just feel like staying home with Maliboo tomorrow.
Even reunion dinner sounds boring to me. Sigh.
Doesn’t make it better when I’m like having a horrible breakout now.
Bleah. This really sucks.
But oh well, Happy New Year to you guys anyway.

Yeah, indeed no mood for any festive mood at all! btw, I really like ur room!! nice! ;) and maliboo is damn CUTE lah! Think maybe she’s abit sensitive and protective over herself? maybe bringing her out more often might help?

hello,
you can try using a hairspray bottle and squirt her face whenever she barks. it’ll give her a shock and she’ll keep quiet, when she does that..immediately praise her for her silence..when she starts barking again, repeat!
also, try not to give her attention (altho i know its very difficult…sometimes i give up and yell at my dog too) — whether its negative or poisitive attention doesnt matter…avoid giving her attention! even scolding her will give her the msg “yay when i bark i get attention”. the moment she keeps quiet tho, start praising her and giving her lotsa attention..
oh and i think its good that she barks at strangers who come near your hse..i guess its the protective doggy instinct they have.. :)

my dog doesn’t have issues with barking but i did do some research before getting her. maybe you can try this to stop maliboo from barking too much.
get a spray can and spray water at her whenever she starts barking annoyingly. you need to be consistent so that in time to come, she will associate barking with getting sprayed at. and then she will not do it anymore! heh. just a suggestion. :-)

The best way is to tackle the core of problem. Boo is fearful that’s why she became barkish towards fast movements, sudden loud sound etc. Try reading books from Patricia Mcconnell (no sure if the spelling is right). “At the other end of leash” is a good book. Hope it helps.

Whenever Boo barks, use your hand to hold her muzzle shut tight and don’t let go till she keeps quiet. When she stops barking after release, give praises and treats!
When you hold a dog muzzle it shows them that you are the alpha dog and it is only allowed to bark whenever you let it. The spraying method would also work! You can try Citronella or a bit of vinegar into the water (1 part vinegar 8 parts water), which dogs don’t like.
I read these online so tell me if it works!

madeline, my face is not very good lah. i hardly get those damn lethal looking pimples but i’m always attacked by tiny zits. i hate them! can’t squeeze them, can’t leave them alone too.
