miumiu is finally back from his work trip!
and of course, i had to spend a whole day out with him to make up for
all the time lost!
:D
i’m always so happy when he is around me.
I LOVE HIM!
here is miumiu and bah bah me.
miumiu even accompanied me back to school to study.
as i studies, he surfs net beside me.
HOW NICE IS THAT!

i hate exams.
and i cannot wait for them to be over!
i read the news about the 5 rowers who lost their lives in Cambodia.
although i don’t know any of them personally,
i really can feel the heartache for the passing of such able men.
very young and promising young people who could be friends or family members
of anyone of us here.
and it is such a painful thing to have them taken away in a tragedy like this.
i’m indeed quite affected when i read the news
and saw the photographs of the victims’ family members breaking down.
i’m not sure if the message will reach them,
but i sincerely hope that their families will stand strong in this rough time.
and the 5 men will definitely be fondly remembered by their family and friends.
hope they find peace in the other side of the world.

and their coach is my coach as well. He is taking it very hard…

Indeed, it is sad to hear such tragedies. It simply just goes to show how vulnerable life is indeed.
And poor miumiu looks super tired! Haha.
Btw, did miumiu sign on with SAF? Somehow, i have the impression that he did. Haha.

raine, it must have been really hard on you.
i believe the bond between you dragonboaters are very strong for you guys go through rough training regimes together and all. i’ll keep your friends in prayers and really hope you and their families are doing well.
ji, yes indeed. it makes us stop and ponder about how unpredictable life can be.
miumiu IS very tired that day. but i bought that vast for him so he is obligated to go gai gai with me. haha. nah. but he is okay lah. got me not tired. yes miumiu is a SAF regular. engineering officer. :) looks like one right? forever got black and short hair. lol.

How do you cope with his irregular hours and frequent travelling?

ji, i think his job is quite alright. he kinda enjoys the discipline in his job i guess. and as much as you hate that he had to work overtime and all, try to understand lor. (no choice) haha. maybe even if he is in another job also need to work overtime and go on work trips etc.

the 5 rowers.. they werent wearing any life jackets. somehow i m not surprised, not trying to be mean. but. why didnt wear life jackets.

u cant blame em for not wearing life jacks’. it’s pretty much an obstruction with the life jack’, the pulling the distance is diff. it cld cause abrasion near their pits too cos of life jacks’.
it was also a decision made by the team. during usual trngs at kallang teams do not wear life jacks’. only during competitions.
they’ve done sm warm up at thr.
it just happened. current and whts not.
thr’s so much bout the sports to these ppl.

Viii.. thanks for the support for the Dbers.. yes.. lifejacks are really an obstruction especially during rowing. It cuts into the skin and you get bad abrasions. believe it or not, the nteam will do almost anything to make sure they can row faster, same goes to any other DB teams in singapore. Moreover, the cambodian festival did not specify it is compulsory to do so. If you read the TNP today, you will realise how malicious and terrible the current beneath is, and no matter whether you have lifevest or not, it probably wont help. Boon San, Jeremy , Stephen and Reuben are execellent swimmers, yet the current just pulled them down.
My coach, also the nteam coach, suffered double tragedy. On the same day the 5 rowers’ bodies were found, Sir’s father passed away.
Please, pray for all of them. Thank you so much!

raine, i think the rest of the 17 rowers who survived will be so traumatized. i read TNP article today and i closed my eyes and visualized how it is going to be like sucked under dark waters, choking on the muddy water, gulping a few mouthfuls, breathless, disorientated and got complete no idea where the surface is. it really brought tears to my eyes. nearly cried on the train. miumiu is a personal friend of Weizheng. and i think it made it even worse when i hear what a nice person Weizheng is and how his family is coping. All of them are such outstanding young people. I really feel deeply affected. :( Hope you are doing fine too.
